Ugh. I started exercising and have gained 3 pounds to show for it. Hoping it's temporary and I see a "whoosh" soon.
157.4 lb Lost so far: 2.6 lb.    Still to go: 7.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 1.3 lb a week

Yes, starting a new exercise program can cause muscles to temporarily hold water to help them heal. Good "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight fluctuations. It will go away.
