Something I just learned, 3oz of steak is the size of half my hand.

I still lost weight after consuming 1600 calories. I think it's because I did a lot of heavy weight lifting between 30 minute workout in the garage, and lifting the "Walker" lawn mower to help my parents repair it.The caloric deficit from exercise was around 400, which reduced calories for daily energy use to 1200.

I'm following the "Half Size Me" plan that has also worked for me in the past, of 1/2 my plate or meal be vegetables, 1/4 protein and unsaturated fats, and 1/4 of starch (like fruit, corn, potatoes, rice, beans, or whole grain bread), if there is caloric room for the starch. Snacks are so planned, but smaller portions of protein, carbs, and fats like nuts, seeds, fruit and plain yogurt, or vegetables and dip.
220.0 lb Lost so far: 15.4 lb.    Still to go: 90.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
