The Blue Box's Journal, 09 February 2014

I walk/jogged for 25 minutes yesterday and my dog loved it! :D I only really count the time, because there is no good way to count distance. I guess I could try and track my path via Google Maps, but I wonder how accurate that would be?

Download Noom on your smartphone. It will track it for you. That's what I did last summer.

I use my iPhone on runs with a free app called SportsTracker. It tracks my distance, speed, energy (kcals burned) based on age and weight I input. And the British accent on the coach is great, giving you updates on elapsed distance and speed during your run.

Nike plus is another good app that will track time and distance. It records all your runs, so if you beat a previous record for time or distance it lets you know.

mapmyrun. They have a mobile application that uses GPS to track your position and map your route. You can also use website and plot your routes yourself. They also calculate calories burnt for you and give you weekly stats. Just make sure to make your routes private, unless you walk in a place a lot of people use anyway. I know, it sounds slightly paranoid, but why tell everybody where they can find you, esp. if you jog/walk alone.
