That can happen with new exercise. Exercise causes the muscles to retain water to help them heal. This can show on the scale as no loss, smaller loss than usual or a temporary gain. It will go away. Just keep going. Google "why the scale lies" for insight.

Thank you for the information and the support. I read the article about "Why the scale lies" and that can be the explanation of why I am stuck. I am lifting weights, and my muscles are very sore, and although my weight hasn't move too much lately, my clothes fit better.

Keep up the good work Carmen! Check out the idea that you might be eating too much protein! Yes, you heard me right! Too much protein can defeat weight loss through gluconeogenesis. I recently suffered a plateau, and went the direction of the fat fast. From that experience, I get the sense that I can generally kick start ketosis by increasing consumption of calories from fat to over 80% and maybe reduce some food volume instead of the extreme 1000 calories per day. I have retrained my eating to include more Konji noodles with a small amount of veg sauteed in lots of olive oil, more avocado's with blue cheese and eggs scrambled with a tablespoon of olive oil and a tablespoon of heavy cream. Bacon wrapped jalapeno peppers are also a magic lunch, just remember to use good quality full fat cream cheese and bacon that doesn't have nitrites. (Trader Joe's has a good product at a reasonable price) Macadamia nuts are also a nice snack that contain a high amount of healthy fats.

Thank you Kasie for your encouragement! LustyPan, you are right! I have been eating too much protein and I am actually considering the fat fast to see if I end this plateau. I Like the idea of increasing consumption of calories from fat 80% instead of 90%. Thank you for the tips!
