Didn't sleep as much as I usually do today so that's pretty good considering :)

Yesterday I had a headache that lasted me the whole day. I took 2 aspirins. One after waking up and one before going to bed (both times where it was worse) lol. I suspect either lack of water or carbs :). I'm ok today though.

I haven't exercised for a few days and feel this inertia to not move lol. This is what's bad about not exercising heheh. I really feel like starting to weight train but I feel incredibly lazy today. And maybe, because I've only slept 6 hours, that isn't ideal either. I think I'll just do some cycling today and leave weight training for another situation.

I'll try to eat more carbs today than yesterday but one thing is looking pretty difficult and that is to eat more proteins while simultaneously eat less fat. :) I don't believe that's possible with the type of foods I have. I mean, that could possibly be done with eating like an entire chicken breast and be done with it. But I don't want to resort to that, not yet at least because I'm still not weight training. I prefer to ingest more healthy sources of protein such as fish, beans, etc. Beans are mostly protein and carbs though. Maybe it's possible to attain the ideal FCP eating mostly beans lol but, to get complete proteins with all essential amino acids, you should mix beans with rice and rice is a high GI food, which should not be abused.

Maybe if you get some good exercise in today you will sleep better tonight...

Chicken and turkey breast are nearly fat free i thought?

That would definitely have happened iamachristianjesusfreak but I really dislike exercising when I'm sleepy lol. Thanks! :)

Thanks Ninaj! They definitely have very little fat for meat. I think that 100 g of chicken breast has almost the same fat as 100 g of whole milk but much more protein. The problem is meat has other separate problems. I've seen a study showing that it's not as healthy as other animal or vegetable food sources. The only meat I'm eating on a daily basis right now is liver to make sure I'm getting enough B12 and iron because of this RL problem (it doesn't seem to be doing anything though lol). But I will definitely have to start eating chicken breast when I start weight training if I plan to gain any muscle because it's a little difficult to get around 100 g of protein (my plan) just from dairy, eggs, fish and beans :)

Grass fed animals are perfectly healthy. Even the fat from them are good for you because of all the omega 3 and tons of other stuff. I have done lots of research on all of it.

yes we always buy the no added hormones/antibiotics etc. and grass and grain fed.

I slept really hard last night, but that was coming off of a night where I woke up with nightmares. Who has nightmares as an adult?? They were so bad I almost woke hubby. Hopefully you will sleep much better tonight! Sweet dreams!

I believe that may be the cause for many people to get sicker by eating meat iamachristianjesusfreak (the fact that they don't eat grass fed meat). I'm going to take your advice and try limiting my meat to that. The good thing is that, the chicken breast I was eating was already free range heheh. I'm even happier for that choice now that you tell me that!

Exactly Ninaj! :)

Nightmares are horrible Skwhite! Luckily, either I haven't had one for a long time, or I just don't remember when I wake up. I hope your nightmares will go away! Some people say nightmares are our brain's expression of something that worries us but that's just "coffee" talk heheh. Luckily for me, the reason why I didn't get much sleep today was the ol' having to wake up at a certain time lol but thank you very much! ;) I don't think the RL is going to give me trouble today :)

Anyone can get nightmares hope you get a better nights sleep with sweet dreams.

May the nightmares be gone! :)

edit: I've had to make numerous attempts to change my bio, first to fit all the text into 2000 characters and, then, to try to understand what was causing an error: turns out the website doesn't accept links in your bio lol. But I still put the name of the video there :) But, anyway, sorry if this caused a flood of notifications (I hope not! :P)

I know I will not sleep as much as I would want to today, not because of any problem but because I stayed up late lol :)

And off to bed I go! Good night to you! :)

Free range only means that they have to be for a certain amount of time everyday. Later I will post some links to find local farms where you should have better luck finding healthy meat choices. :)

I'm very thankful for that iamachristianjesusfreak, but the problem is I live in Portugal heheh :P I really think this is the most "organic" that meat gets here lol. But thanks anyway! If you already went through the trouble though, may be that information be useful to others here! ;)

Google 'ketogenic diet for athletes' with an open mind sometime, especially Peter Attia's stuff. I'm not an athlete, but there's an early journal entry of mine regarding a headache, and saying "maybe I need more carbs". Instead I lowered them more, jacked up my fat intake, and drank loads of water for a week, and the headaches stopped. 3 months later, I'm down 37lbs, and the rate seems independent of exercise. No more sugar crashing, no more 'eat or die' stomach rumbling. Like I said, I'm not an athlete, but there are those who say they can run for hours on stored body fat, once their bodies remember how.

It's definitely good to be talking with someone whose been in the same situation. Luckily for me, I don't have a headache today but that one was the longest I remember in my whole life. It wasn't the worst but still heheh. I'm definitely trying to maintain my carbs on the low after seeing an amazing video Doublecheese posted yesterday heheh. I will definitely google that! :) Thanks imjinc2k! I should probably just say in advance that I've always been too skeptical to completely eliminate an entire food group off my diet. I would need a very good reason like sudden contamination or something heheh. My motto is moderation, because moderation has a way of winning in most things even when we're completely ignorant in what we're doing, even though I realize that all foods aren't created equal and that you should definitely eat different quantities of each (maybe even very different):). I can't deny that you're able to function properly and even exercise without any carbs in your system, because I truly don't know that, but it definitely sounds like you'd probably be healthier if you eat some carbs, even if a little, like some beans or such, even if for nutrient, vitamins, fibers, sake ;) That being said, thank you very much for that information! I will definitely take a look at it! (it would be horrible if I was talking about something completely unrelated in advance lol)

Glad you're feeling better. It is a very common misconception that a ketogenic diet is a 0-carb diet with no fiber, etc... The target is usually 20g net carbs to remind your body that the fat you're eating is fuel as quickly as possible (<4 weeks), then some people go up 50g or more, and fiber doesn't count, because it doesn't turn into sugar (mostly). 50g net carbs per day can fit loads of non-starchy vegetables. For example, to get just 20g net carbs you could eat 1400g (3 lb) of spinach, or 100g of sweet potato, and the spinach gets you more micronutrients per unit of sugar, or even by mass.
