Small deficit is a LOT better than no deficit. No rush, right? :)

Absolutely! I'm in the process of shifting my focus from losing weight to building muscle. So I'll take a small, steady deficit that does not rob me of any muscle. My two primary daily goals are to hit my protein target (1gm/pound), and to have a calorie deficit between 0 and 600 kCal (calculated from this article you recommended: http://www.acaloriecounter.com/diet/how-many-calories-should-i-eat-per-day-to-lose-weight/).
