You will find that it is the best decision you will make! Follow the rules. It's not as easy as it looks. Don't try to get ahead of yourself. Go to the support groups, they help. I am 8 months in and I get giddy every time I see a smaller number on the scale! I lost another pound today and I don't plan on looking for it ;). Good job on your 16.3 lbs!

Thanks. The weight is not coming off as quickly as I had hoped. All the weight I've lost was immediately after surgery but nothing since. I'm walking everyday and sticking to semi-soft foods. Any advice?

My brother had it done and he lost 200 pounds. I had the lap band and wasn't very successful. In both cases I've heard the 2 secrets of success are the protein drinks and water. Good luck to you!

Jlosmile-it will come off, don't worry. I know you must feel so excited! At first, your body has to adjust and while the numbers don't show it, you are actually losing. If you started walking, you're probably gaining muscle which weighs more. That's not a bad thing, at all. You are going to look so toned with the exercise you do. The numbers will come down, but just give it a little time. You're body is probably still adjusting. You are going to do it! Love your positive attitude!

Thanks so much guys! I will admit I ate things I shouldn't have right after surgery since I had it right before Christmas. However, the portions were itty bitty but I was around food at my sister's house the entire time! I'm back at home and am sticking to the diet and started logging in my journal here again so I can keep track of protein and overall calories. I'm trying to focus on protein but realize I completely had forgotten about water intake so I'll get on that immediately! Yes, I appreciate all the feedback! Love to you all and make this year your absolute best!

You're normal! I don't know of too many people who haven't had a little of this or that around the Holidays! The biggest thing is to log everything and this is a great site to do it. It may take time, but log every single thing. You'll be amazed at the numbers and it really makes you aware of things. Kudos to you. You're trying hard!
