Hi Gail612, the funny thing about last week is I had 3 dinner invitations and nothing to do Wednesday night. So what happened? I prepared for my dinners by reducing my intake during the day time abd my total intake for those days was close to my RDI. I BLEW IT BAD on Wednesday night because I was sitting at home with nothing to do. So, I got back on track. Over the weekend, I had poor performance (High intake, Low activity). That's OK, I got back on track Monday and Tuesday. I got the ping pong table out of the garage and have been playing for at least 1 hour with whomever wants to play. My 12-year-old daughter has been my partner. So, quality family time and I am staying out of the kitchen. So, don't give up over a bad day or a bad weekend. Try as much as you can to limit the damage and to stick to your REASONABLE weight loss goals especially when you hit that plateau over the 2nd week of dieting.

My experience: The worst time is always the bored time (nothing-to-do-time) so I go back and forth to the kitchen. This is also the worry time (I think about the bad things that are happening in my life) and I go eat to find some satisfaction (unconsciously). Solution: Taking Dale Carnegie's advise from his book "how to stop worrying and start living"; OCCUPY yourself..always have something to do (without exhausting yourself physically and stressing out about deadlines). So, I usually spend Saturday morning in my garden (I love planting vegetables, flowers, taking care of my beautifull lawn)..I am a member of many not-for-profit organizations, and in between I drive my children back and forth from their activities (I have 2 daughters: 15 and 12 years old). Week-nights: My wife and I either receive friends or we go to their house to play cards. NO SNACKS allowed. We only offer each other a non-caloric drink (water, tea, or a diet soda). Lately, if I have nothing to do, I prefer sitting on this site typing away and reading about other member's experience especially since my computer is in the office (further away from the kitchen than the family room where the TV is). I also got the ping pong table out and have been playing when I can or when I could find someone to play with. My point is: Stay BUSY!!!!! (Now.. I need to follow this advise a little closer (ha ha ha)
