kingkeld's Journal, 16 June 2013

Good morning!

I'm registering my weigh-in and posting this journal Sunday morning, but since I'm gonna be working at the gym today, I'm "cheating" and writing part of my journal beforehand.

Right now, it's Saturday afternoon, and I am on the bus going home from the world's oldest amusement park, Bakken In Copenhagen. Bakken is a nice, old, traditional amusement park with games, restaurants, bars, revue, shows and what-have-you.

It's also the home of the world's oldest roller coaster, dating all the way back to 1932. It's still standing, and it's still in use.

I went without Wife today, as this is a work event for those working at the school where I teach the kids to play rock music.

It's been a fun and very nice day, but also a challenge on my calories. It all turned out fine in the end. I ate more than I had hoped, less than I feared and stayed within my RDI. Not bad.

I have plenty of room in my RDI for dinner, but not much room in my stomach. I just might pass on dinner tonight.

I have consumed 1800 calories, and have 300 for dinner if I like.

I spent most of the time at Bakken simply walking. Not too fast, not too slow. Just enjoying the place, the vibe and the sunshine. It was really nice, and I got to walk a LOT more than I would have if I hadn't go.

Also, it's worth noting that today's calorie intake is NOT Indulgence Day level, but just my normal intake. I've had plenty of Indulgence Days this week, so it's a good thing that I didn't go for one today.

I feel like I did eat a lot today. The reason is probably that I had TWO small(ish) ice creams through the afternoon. It was super good and I just had to have that second one. Of course, it's bugging my conscience, as I in no way needed neither of the ice creams, but the 2nd one was just stupid to get. Still, I counted it, it didn't crash my RDI, and I was good. It's ALL good.

The stats from my Fitbit Flex says that I'm in great shape. I did 23000 steps so far, put 18 kilometers behind me, and have burned 2900 calories. My daily goals are 10000, 8 and 2800. As long as I'm sticking to my plan tonight, and I am sure that I will, there should be no trouble.

I'm curious what I'll be weighing in the morning. I'll write a little about that at the bottom of this journal. I have no idea whether I'll be lighter or heavier. Time will tell.

...

I'm very intrigued by the numbers that I get from the Fitbit. I am, however, a little skeptical about the accuracy. I know that the step counter is very regular when it comes e's to my walks. It also seems to work fine with my other activities, though it seems VERY generous when I play bass. I can change those numbers manually, though. It's not too big a problem.

What i really want to know more about is the "calories burned" number. If tis number is reasonably accurate, it would be a great place to have an indicator of my weight/calorie intake. The app shows how much I supposedly can consume, and it changes the number through the days, adjusting to my activity level.

It would be So convenient to simply be able to look up what I can allow myself to do every day, and throughout the day. I would move that. I just need to make sure that the number really IS accurate. I need to investigate this further, and do some field resting. But first, I need to get back to 77 kilos again, and I need to be able to touch that bas every so often. I won't star experimenting until I can do that. This is right around the corner er. So far, it's pretty simple:

If I weigh more than 77 kilos, my RDI is 2100 calories, if I weigh less, it's 2600. Pretty simple and straightforward.

...

So, back to Sunday morning stats! It is NOW sunday morning, I've had a couple of eggs for breakfast today as I woke up feeling hungry, and I'm basically ready to go to work.

I'm up 100 grams today. Nothing I will at all worry about. I went fine without dinner last night, though I did choose to have a protein bar (191 calories, so still fine within my RDI).

I have packed the protein shake from yesterday to take to work, along with a nice salad with chicken. This should keep me going through the day, I think. No worries.

I slept great - over 9 house! I have no idea when I slept that long last time. I know it's been a while, but I know I needed it yesterday. I slept great, and long.

Here are my Fitbit Flex stats from yesterday.

So, I am ready to take on the day today.

Today, I'm thankful for:
- had a fun day at Bakken!
- gonna have a fun day at the gym!
- Wife!

Life is good!

Interesting stats KK. Not sure if you read my journal yesterday... I am tracking my calories / food on MFP (it's a good site for tracking- I don't socialise on it at all, FS is much better for that). Anyway..... I seem to be following a similar pattern of calorie intake to yourself, one day 600'ish then 1,200 then it will be higher, then much lower. I am not purposely doing this, just eating when I am hungry, and having the type of meals I fancy ( DH has had a bit of a tummy bug - so I have been cooking what he fancies - bit of a pain doing two seperate meals, but not too bad). I log the food, after I have eaten it... So am not 'planning' it this way. I just found it interesting, to see the variation. Have a good day atthe gym :-)

Just re-read my journal. Apologies for all the miss-spells. Damn autocorrect. :)
