Bingo yesterday evening was for cash prizes and the pots can go as large as $1,000 but it was a bust last night unless you count laughter because then you could say we had big winnings!

I am still working on the massive laundry pile today so will keep busy for sure on this lovely sunshiny day. (LOL, when I wrote these words this morning I didn't look outside yet and was surprised there is cloud cover today ... too funny) Also, I will give a heartfelt speech to the school board this coming Tuesday night regarding policy for the school district.

With that I will type from Theoles book of courage:

Knowing We Can

I grew up with a friend who was born with one arm missing from the elbow down. Before every adventure we were planning, I would ask her, "Do you think you'll be able to do this?" Her answer was almost
always a resounding, "If you can do it, I can too." And she did.

Most of our limitations are self-imposed. When we know we can do or be something we generally can. But knowing is not the same as wishful thinking. Wishful thinking is passive, knowing includes having the courage to find our way over, around and through obstacles we find blocking our path.

"I can't" is one of the most debilitating beliefs we hold. Imagine that something we want badly is on a raft one hundred yards from shore and all we need to do is swim out and claim it. On the sand are swim-fins and a ten pound bowling ball attached to an ankle chain. We can choose either of these to help us get to the raft. No contest: the fins? But many of us choose the bowling ball and chain of "I cant" and wonder why we struggle and sink on the way to getting what we want.

What we think is totally within our control. It is wise for us to choose swim-fin thoughts to help glide us toward our goals. We can either sink with the "I can't" or swim with the "I can"

We the people who are involved with our school district need to think outside of the box and cut through the red tape and the policies that are holding us back, that have been preventing us from making the necessary positive changes, and use our valuable resources already in place for the betterment of our children's education. We all have a common goal in having schools that work well. I am looking forward to working together in unity between parent groups, teachers groups, board members and the students involved in our school district. During this budget crisis we do have limitations due to monetary resources but by utilizing what we already have and the things that are working well right at this very moment, we can improve and succeed in making our schools number one in California.

Am borrowing the following words from my wise buddy K8yks journal today, who said these words came from her most wonderful boyfriend.

"You can be fat and happy, I love you for you. Or you can lose weight and change your body and I will support you. But please stop whining and complaining about your weight. You CHOOSE to be the way you are."

Laughter is richer than money any day. ;-) My youngest enjoys Bingo at his school fundraiser, and I try to stay in the moment, lol. What ever goes down with the school board, know that youv'e already made a great impression by your high level of parent "volunteerism" .
