TJSloan's Journal, 24 April 2013

Last night before I went to bed, my sugar level was 124 after dinner. This morning when I checked it, it was 132. I'm not going to complain though because I was also down another pound this morning and I stayed well below my RDI. I feel good, though I did wake up hungry this morning. And I have yet to have a cup of coffee or something for breakfast.

I'm in the process of trying to get an over-ride to take College Algebra this summer, but I'm not sure I'll be successful. They're telling me that I'm not qualified for the over-ride as there is another Math I can take. That other Math is Math Libral Arts I or something like that. Either way, not something I want to take during the summer when it's not offered for the full term, unless I take it online. Math online is so not going to happen. So, at this point, I'm waiting to get in to talk to a counselor/advisor to see if I can talk them into letting me take Algebra. If not, then I will have to find another class to take, and I'm looking at possibly Spanish I online, but there are only 2 seats available for the class I want. Gah!

For now, though, I'm going to concentrate on drinking my water, staying below my RDI and getting stuff done at work, that I already feel like I'm behind in.

Good for you -- another pound lost. If you're looking for it, I somehow ended up with half of it. :-S Don't know how that happened, especially with all the work I did yesterday cleaning up the sticks in the yard and moving all the summer furniture out of the shed. I know what you mean about online math. I've been thinking about taking some language courses, but there's no way I could do them online -- too many distractions at home. I'd have to go to school, and then stay and do my homework there as well. My blood sugar has been staying low -- the past 3 mornings it has been 99, 92, and 86. And after meals it's been below 110, too. Again, hoping it will stay that way. At least it seems that the Sonogi effect is not an issue anymore. Do you have a protein/carb snack before bed? I was told that could help with overnight bloodsugar levels. Darn pancreas! If you've got any good recipes, let me know -- I'm always looking for something tasty to try for dinner. :-) Have a great day, T! ~ Adrienne

My dinner since it was so late that we at, was more or less my protein. Salmon fillet, seasoned with Lemon&Pepper seasoning and Garlic powder. The seasonings were placed in the pan with just enough veggie oil to cover the bottom of the pan, cooked on medium heat until done. And I had spinach as a side. It was probably the 4 girl scout cookies I had just prior to dinner. I should really bring those boxes into work so I'm not tempted. Oh well. As for the half a pound you ended up with, I'm really not looking for it, but thanks anyway! lol! I usually find the pounds my grandmother loses. I'm so glad your numbers are staying low. I will be there one day. Hopefully in a year or two at the most. At least that's my goal. You know, I really haven't tried any new recipes lately. There's a salad in magazine I get that I may try. Chicken, Pear and Parmesan Salad. We're trying to get rid of all the food in our freezers so that we can start new with the good stuff, so lately we've just been cleaning that out. I'll try to get this recipe uploaded into my cookbook with a picture for you. It's only 306 calories; 26g carbs and like 26g protein. Have a good day Adrienne!!
