Gained weight this week - I think this morning especially it's water weight, but it's weight nonetheless. Did my chest, waist and hip measurements. A guy recommended we do our hips too last night, good thing - now my waist is less than my hips by a bit, I'd like to get my waist down 3 more inches so I DO have some more dieting and exercising to do my chest, which had gotten bigger less than when I was sixty pounds heavier, but as a guy I know once you gain weight up there it doesn't flatten out again totally like when you were young again without surgery. I'm not in bad shape there I know, but I'm 46 and had been heavy so the damage is done there and only more weight loss will help or surgery, which financially isn't an option now and isn't needed for me anyway yet but might be as I get older and if I do have the $ in the future. (I know this as I was a nurse before).
205.6 lb Lost so far: 17.4 lb.    Still to go: 10.6 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
gaining 6.5 lb a week

Glenn, just remember your "Atkins for life" mantra and all the reasons why you wanted to live healther. That should help you get back on track. It sounds like you are doing really well, so keep up the good work!

Thanks - I've been doing OK - just not following the diet regularly as everyone is telling me to not lose anymore weight as I'm so tall - 6' 3" and that I'm thin enough and they remember a fat me, and I do need to get to a 34" waist for ME - and not more pretzels and snacks even if it's just occasionally - there should be an Off the diet less than more category perhaps - I don't feel I overly cheated, I'm just above 60g of carbs a day... :)

Additional comment - I know about where I look weight size - as a guy my size is about ten pounds heavier than me and is not overweight by any means - I used to work with him, and when he was 212 or so looked quite thin as he had lost weight, and that was when I was well into the 225 range. My brother-in-law is 6'6" tall and has gained weight since marriage to my twin sister of about ten years of them being together - he still seems thin as a bean pole even though he isn't as skinny as when my sister Lori married him. So I know I need to lose some more weight, but already I look thin to those who didn't know me years ago when I was in Los Angeles and the whole time I lived there I was in the 170s to 180 range I think. :)

I know what you mean about people telling you that you are getting too thin. It's all about 1) How you feel physically 2) How you feel mentally about YOU and 3) Being at a healthy weight for your height and bone structure. Two people of the same height can stand next to each other who look to be the same size and one can weigh a number of pounds more than the other. This is due primarily to bone structure. I would say too that if you are exercising and your muscles are getting larger that you will weigh more, but it is a good weight. I guess that my point here is not to compare yourself too much with others, not even a younger you, and go by how you feel.

Thanks slease, the former co-worker who I was comparing myself to was my height and everything. My brother-in-law is 220 and still looks skinny! (Don't we all wish we were 6'6" tall - us guys anyway)! I honestly think I will look best around 190. I'm getting older though so 160 is not the same on a 46 year old as it was on a 25 year old with a tan living in Hawaii. For the Emerald team I'll do my best to search for diet foods over the next weeks! I've got two for next week - just have to get to the store and get the carb and calorie info! I'm psyched about this challenge just like when I first went on the diet!!! I'm doing induction again and boy do I need to this was a good idea! :)
