jessabridge4444's Journal, 30 July 2019

The alarm company woke us up at 3 am to tell us that the alarm was not communicating well, but it is no big deal, they just have to let us know. AND, I still got up to treadmill because I was lazy last night.

I will put that in the positive column. E stayed in bed, but I did for me. :-)

Tonight is dinner with my parents, and 3 games of Parcheesi. My sister and I are partners against my parents. We play with $1.50, but money no longer changes hands. We just keep track of who is up. Right now they "owe" my sister and I $6.70. We be kicking their butt! It's a lot of fun.

Thankful:
Parcheesi days are so connecting.

Goals:
Do my fit board on lunch, and actually meet my goal today. :-)

LOL... like, 3am? They just had to let you know right then? I guess, esp if someone had blocked the signal for a home invasion. Yeah, good response.

Thanks Tribe! @Bella...yes. very much yes. It was 3am. It might be a good response but I still wish they didn't call last night. Can't they use a crystal ball and know if there are intruders? I mean, really!

Absolutely... I'd be wondering 'did the break start at 10 and you're just now getting around to calling me... what if it was a real intrusion...' I'd never have gotten back to sleep.

I didn't think of that! LOL But when we have lost power, they call right away, within a min or two. I will find comfort in that and hope I sleep tonight. :-)

Parcheesi was THE go-to board game in my paternal grandparents' house. When I had my tonsils out in first grade, they came with a present: my very own Parcheesi game! I have a zillion memories of loving, special times with them and my immediate and extended paternal family. I am so, so blessed to have had them in my life, to provide unconditional love and acceptance and support. I want to be "that Grandma" for my husband's (our!) four granddaughters.

Mine is on a 24 hour battery back up in the event of power loss (outage or on purpose) but that doesn't make me feel warm & fuzzy... when we were out over 30 hours from the tornado I was just hot & miserable worrying about looters.

Do you live urban, city or suburban, Bella? I am very urban (for a RI'er), and my platt is not a thruway. We really only use it when we are not home. I always forget to put it on at night. @Mira, mine too. But the kids were not allowed to play it. Just my parents and grandparents. They played for a dollar. They were really serious about that $1! Once I hit my teens, we started doing a family Parcheesi day. I love it. I love games. We all do.

City, sidewalks.

I would be afraid of looters too in a city
