GlennM's Journal, 27 July 2010

Doing well. Went for a long bike ride, paid for it with a wicked back spasm when I got home, it's abating now probably as the Cortisone is well into my system now from last week. I may not be able to exercise much in the future any longer much to my dismay. This winter I may join the local Y as the other gym membership ends. (That is so I'll be able to swim there). It is quite expensive and they don't have discounts, I've tried. ($51 a month last I heard, maybe more now). Less calories today than lately, perhaps the Cortisone that has gotten into my body and made me hungrier than usual the past week is easing its influence on me...

Work yourself up slowly Glenn...short rides...lots of stretching...can't emphasize that enough...very, very important...! Good you're not feeling so hungry these days...and there is a loss on the graph - so that's great going!!! Have a good evening Glenn....huggggs

I agree with Deb, Glenn. Plus if you can swim, it is all over exercise with no impact. Do you have to pay every month, or only if you go regularly? I love to swim but don't like our community pool. To many people and kids that pee in it. Yuk!! I'm not a germ-a-phobe, but some things I cannot deal with. Make your bike rides a bit shorter and maybe you won't have those spasms. Have a good nite Glenn.

Drd - Yes - less calories today. I may stay at my night job as the pay is higher than if I switched to an answering the phone job. I will maybe walk tomorrow. It was in the low 90s today - but windy and not humid, reminded me of a day in the Philippines during the winter there maybe or in Hawaii in the less humid not summer season too. Tomorrow same temp but more humid. As far as kids peeing in pools, oh well. Not many pools are adults only. And they put in enough bleach to kill everything. There are adult only swim times though. I am on a contract with my gym now and will be until February or so. Then I can join the 'Y' and it is monthly, but no contract and they have a sauna and steam room there that would help the arthritis so I definitely have to look into it. Thanks for checking in, I will try to get to your journals later this evening. I'm going to be busy writing for a time...
