Very frustrated right now. I’ve been stuck on a plateau for the last 3 weeks. Aside from one cheat day, I’ve been well under my daily calorie target.

On Wednesday night I attended the gastric bypass pre-op class I’ve been waiting two months to come. It doesn’t sound like the right option for me right now since my over eating is a mental thing and not so much a physiological thing.

Next step for me is a two prong attack. I have an appointment with a dietician to learn how to diet better and do some blood tests to check where me micronutrient levels are.

The other part of my new plan is

I am so happy to hear you are trying all the options to address the eating. I know some who have the surgery but gain back. You will figure it out and can continue to lose as you go along. Good luck!

Thank you. Yes that was one of the things that worries me about the surgery. They said it works for about 80% of people. So of the 14 people who took the class with me, 3 of us wouldn’t loose any weight but will forever have mutilted stomachs and engineered eating disorders. Surgery sounds like the last option and I have a few others to try before I consider that one.
