Wrong direction. I used to not post when I gained weight- but here it is. Steadily getting fatter which is not the goal. LOL! But I am going to hang in there! I have a looong international travel coming up and I am telling myself that I will not like the food. At least I will have less to pack, because there is little in my closet that I can wear - again! Taking my scale. I had a doctor's appointment last week and I asked if my medication was making me gain or was it my elbow- all she could do was bust out laughing! Oh, well! Blessings on your day!

Posting ALL food, exercise as well as losses AND gains will help you find the trend. You’ll be able to look back and see if a certain food makes you gain/lose. It can be depressing to gain if you let it. Or you can turn that into motivation to figure out why you are slowly gaining and change something to see if it helps. It’ll take you awhile I’m sure. If it was easy we would all be losing super fast in a healthy way and nobody would be overweight :). I’ve been tracking food and weight for 5 months, almost 6 mo of dieting, 1.5 of that tracking my activity. Was an eye opener in some cases. On others I’m still confused. Like why did I stop losing at 1200-1400 but now am losing at 1500-1600. I’ve slowly added more protein but I’m also eating more junk and more restaurant food. Watch and change, watch and change and you’ll see the results when you find your balance :).

Thank you guys! Up another notch this morning but I have owned it. I,am,going to,go,back, and log yesterday. I went to a potluck and logging combination goods are difficultI want to, am going to,do,a water and herbal tea fast today to try to break this cycle and calm my appetite. Hour by hour. I cannot tell you how much your support clicks and comments are helping me at this time. I have not been this heavy in 50 years, when I first slimmed down. This feels so weird.I think my undoing was sugar. I had not had sweets in many months. Well meaning friends chided me on the thought that I could just have small portions. In my heart I knew better. I am a sugar addict. So once I get past this curve I will be saying no to sugar just as past smokers do. Some people can handle it and I do not argue that. I do not have the level of discipline to have sugar. All for now. I will post more often today as I move through the fast. Wish me well. Blessings. BTW- I am so proud for the progress and successes you all are having.

Great way to handle it - look at it, track it, adjust as necessary - but most important you're owning it! That in itself is probably the biggest hurdle. The sugar addiction can be beaten. Substitutes, distractions and mind-games - it truly is mind over matter. Travelling can be tough - food in restaurants is often saltier than normal - I just got back from a week away and found the grocery store to be my best option... I also had the benefit of being able to cook at our son's place which really helped. Good luck, don't beat yourself up, but stay the course and it will happen!
