LISfifty's Journal, 18 August 2018

Good morning everyone. Silly question maybe. Do all of you use FS to log food? Now that I am back to FS, I was wondering how I could keep using Chronmeter and have it link to FS. Also, to lose 1 pounds a week, what does my calorie deficit need to be? Thanks.

Calorie deficit depends on height, weight, sex and activity level

Do you know your maintenance calorie intake count?

It depends on what app I use. FS allows me about 1400 and another 1200 calories with a deficit of 500 calories. I was trying to remember what rate of weight loss that would be. I think my goal is 1 pound a week.

I log FS and chrono 2x per week to see how I am doing on micronutrients.

I use Fatsecret for tracking nutrition and maintaining my journal. Because I like the graphs on the Fitbit site, I manually enter three meals and a snack as foods into Fitbit. I use Fitbit for tracking activity and then sync the results to Fatsecret. One of the graphs I like displays my CICO. I try to focus on my nutritional needs and will sometimes sacrifice calories to get there. My nutritional needs change from day to day when I'm working out. Sorry, I'm not familiar Chronmeter.

Maintenance calories. I believe they are the numbers I quoted. I could have that much and not gain weight. But to lose I would have 500 calories less. I need to now look at my apps ans see what I really know. Thank you for the questions.

So John you log meals in both FS and Fitbit?

Rosie, I just looked at my FS settings. My RDA is 1400. That is not maintenance, but for weight loss to meet my targets.

FS calculates my maintenance daily calories at 1900. Wow!!! Now see how simple that was? Thank you! LOL!

TTinaBee, that's an idea.

Chronmeter is useful because it gives a picture of how nutritious calories are. It shows how closely you are meeting daily nutrition goals. It will also suggest food if you have calories left in the day that fit the nutrients that you are still lacking. I like it because, I can avoid some things such as my hair falling out for lack of certain nutrients. Also, I need to monitor minerals like calcium. Hope that helps.

How y’all are you ?

1900 is like my maintenance but I’m 5’1

5'2"

I find FS to be a bit high on maintenance calories by about 150-200 per day. 5’3” 136# and I’m doing well on 11000 a week and my activity is about 12500 a week. Losing 1-2# per month so I know I could go a bit higher but not the 1800-1900 it quoted me.

So you are tracking by the week? I think the FS Maintenance calorie goal is high also - now that I know what it is. But I did have a nutritionist determine for my metabolism how many calories I am likely burning. Now to go find that report. I am really amiss here and it feels good to seriously get back on track.
