ny_shelly's Journal, 07 June 2018

Well, as you can see I have been off on a binge eating extravaganza. I don't do well when I get out of my routine. It's a real problem that will keep me from being successful if I don't figure out how to stay on plan even when I am out of my element.

Graduation for my daughter went very nicely. I hung in there for a couple of days and then the stress of the whole thing finally got me and I gave in. After I gave in, it was off to the races and I didn't stop.

I didn't do anything I was supposed to do for the whole 2 weeks. Imagine how much food I ate to gain 15 pounds in 2 weeks?

I watched My 600 Pound Life last night and watched that woman lose over 400 pounds. She was a real inspiration and I really like that DR b/c he doesn't pull any punches. It helped me think about my situation.

I am really sick of losing and gaining but what are the choices here? To quit? To give up and just drop dead? I even considered giving up my trainer b/c why should I spend all that money if I am just going to keep up this BS?

Today I weighed myself and for the next month I don't go out of town. I hope to lose the weight I gained and when I go down to my Dad's for 4th of July I need to talk to him about what I need to do. It wasn't anyone's fault by mine but maybe if I have a talk with him about what I need to do to stay on track I will do better.

I'm sorry I wasn't here supporting people when I abandoned my program. I hope everyone is doing well.
301.6 lb Lost so far: 50.4 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

You can do it, I lost 11lbs after my last vac . I busted butt at the gym and ate less calories but it was worth it. 😁

You can do this, you have been doing it!! We all stumble and fall, but what matters is that we get back up.

Relapse is part of recovery! It's a mantra you hear in the eating disorder and addiction programs all the time. It's a learning experience, and you've owned up, you're identifying what you need to do differently next time, and you're already making plans for how to do it. You're strong, and you can do this. You haven't failed if you haven't quit.

Ny -shelly!! I have been wondering how you are doing. Sorry you have been slipping and sliding! This time of year is tough for a lot of ppl. You are so hard on yourself! Try to be gentler, you are human, after all! Take one meal at a time.

I really believe some people are lucky n they eat a lot n don’t gain. N others listen to their bodies n don’t overeat. I think our type of bodies cannot handle a surplus of calories, unfortunate but that’s true. If u don’t want to be overweight u have to have ur priorities straight. Feel good for 2-5 minutes with food or feel good all day long with urself

If you are not doing it already, please try filling in your OK foods either first thing in the morning, or before. If it's all predetermined, I find it easier to follow. only eat what is listed for that day in the tracker! good luck, you've had a set back, it's over. Now go forward... never give up!!! We've all been there... you will succeed!!!!

Oh and don't let people who don't understand rent space in your head. I've forgotten if you've had your fasting insulin checked or if you have any metabolic diagnoses.

I have been similar the last two weeks—my son’s graduation, birthdays, holiday, being away from home has thrown me off plan and I chose to eat foods I have chosen to avoid for the last 5 months. Lets get back to it today! We can do this! You’re here admitting it and that’s a huge step. We’ve only failed if we don’t try again! Hugs to you! We can do this!

I think the body ups the steroids when new or old restresser situations begin... using insulin etc. Maybe there is a snack that works to calm and bring stability back. Remember as you think, breathe, posture, smile, and give grace, your body can align and grow confident, balance liquids and salts, and it is your healthy intentional path through with a peaceful heart.... no longer your problem to fix things, just be there because you are a healthy part of your community and activities....

Glad to see you back and holding yourself accountable for falling off the wagon. When I am away from home, I make sure to pack snacks, drinks, and things I can eat. I constantly remind myself of what happens if I choose reckless abandon vs. staying the course. It helps keep me in line. Sending love and hugs, I am so sorry you are struggling!

I had to do so much research and try so many different things before I found a method that worked for em. Everyone is different so what works for 1 person won't work for others. Hang in - you will find a strategy that works for on a consistent basis. Remember, we support you

That is correct, when u find a diet u like, one that works for u. U will achieve consistency n than everything will fall into place 😉

Be encouraged. Re-focus & you get a do-over! That's what's great about our bodies. Hope you had a wonderful celebration during your break away. Life isn't always about watching every f'in thang we put in our mouths. (Don't tell anyone on FS I said that) You know how to fix this! Shake it off! Don't beat yourself up! I like Dr. Now too--he's a hoot! I like his way of practice--he calls BS on our excuses! LOL (((HUGS)))

Most of us have difficulty with maintaining a healthy routine. I take it a day at a time. Don't do the blame game; that adds even more stress. We all eat the wrong foods for different reasons. I eat when I'm happy, sad, or stressed. So, it runs the gambit. Be proud that you are willing to admit it and move on to your next goal. You have the power!

Get up and dust yourself off..and next time you go to the races do it in moderation. try to learn that.
