biblioholic03's Journal, 08 January 2008

Well today has been a day. I went to bed with a horrible headache last night, but didn't take anything because I thought I could sleep it away. Wrong. Bullytrouble, I'm feeling your pain. Luckily I was able to sleep ok, but when I woke at 7 I was still not feeling well, when Greg called me at 9:30 I told him I was getting up...haha I went back to sleep and didn't get up until 11. :( So I got a much later start on the day than I wanted. Then I was going into Columbia (about an hour and a half away) to do some different things for work and right when I got onto the interstate, about 20 minutes away my battery light came on in my car! Arg. So I turned around and took it to the shop...needed an alternator, which with labor was a nice $275 spent that I DON'T have. I'm more stressed for $$ right now than I thought, because the job that I have is with the state and because I'm a temporary employee I have to take a mandatory 2 week break...well I knew that, but not WHEN I had to take it. Well they haven't had any work for me to do since the beginning of October, and now they have some, so I asked if I could just count two weeks during that time as my "break". Of course not. It has to be 01/18-02/01. Just when I can work and they have work I can't. And I seriously need the money, when you spend $600 on your car that you weren't expecting to spend in less than a month it really drains your account! I do have another job, but because of the paperwork I won't be working there for another 6 weeks, so that doesn't help. Any suggestions on earning money legally? Lol. Greg is gone for a few days for work, so I have the house to myself and the dogs - it's so quiet!

On a better note I did eat well today, and I've finally searched and found the FitTV channel, so I've been looking at which ones I want to do. I really need a schedule (not of FitTV, just mine) of what to do when. I work better that way! I hate how my workout pants accentuate my tummy rolls. I really really really want to get toned and back in shape. I haven't been to the Y in awhile, need to get back to going. Does anyone have any recommendations on a website or anything to get a good workout routine? I'm going to make my own probably, but any help would be great!

So I made a green-bean salad for dinner - I think it's about 1, or less that 1 WW point. It's cooked green beans, a yellow and green pepper, and some grape tomatoes. Then the dressing is some dijon/spicy mustard, olive oil and lemon juice. I've never made it and it's chilling right now, but I'm excited to try it.

Anyway, I've gone on and on. I'm just frustrated and seriously ready to get the weight gone and look GOOD!

Aw that really sucks about the money. Trust me I was there in December. Can you borrow any from Greg? Do you have any temping (part time work) agencies near by that you can sign up to? Things will get better come Feb. Your dinner sounds super healthy, I love how you make everything from scratch yourself. You will be looking fab in no time. Anyone you can dog walk for for a little bit of cash?

No, Greg doesn't have any either. I may do that (temp thing). And as much as I don't want to I could always go back to Barnes&Noble. Dinner WAS good! What do you mean I make everything from scratch? Where are those roasted sweet potatoes and things you eat coming from? Unfortunately I don't really know anyone here. Hm. Ug, why is another headache coming on?

I feel your pain with the car. We got a small inheritance of $1000 in the fall. Well as soon as it got in the bank we needed a new transmission in the minivan! Gee, guess how much that cost? Yup, $1000! And with 3 kids, we never have any money. At least one day I'll be skinny and broke :)

I know, but its frozen fish and if I ever use salad dressing or sauce then its bought pre-made in a jar from my supermarket. Although i can make a decent tomato sauce from fresh now. :)

Hm, I'll have to send you a recipe, it's one of my favorites. I think I wrote about it in my journal yesterday. Thanks. And yep!
