*Starshine*'s Journal, 11 January 2017

Sharing something of a new realisation for me. Usually, I weigh myself weekly but recently (before going on holiday and since I got back), I've started doing it daily. And it feels quite different. A week seems quite a long way away, while 24 hours is much more immediate. Measuring more frequently actually seems to make me more resilient about not 'cheating'. I use a body monitor scale and recording all the figures can be a bit of a pain -- like this morning when I forgot and had to completely undress and dress again -- but it's worth it, to see and reflect more directly on the connections between what I'm doing and the results. I never would've thought, though, that something so simple would have such an effect on my accountability.

I'm happier weighing daily. I can tolerate the fluctuations and turn around any increases faster. I'm not an obsessive though. I know some people would become fixated on the scale by weighing daily

I weigh daily and use TrendWeight.com to give me the trend. I only post Friday's scale reading here.

Weighing daily keeps me on track

I usually only weigh once a week (Tuesday morning) but did so again today just because I was bored I think (couldn't I think of anything more fun?!) and have another loss which has really bucked me up. However, Phook's comment about becoming obsessed would apply to me so I shan't take up weighing daily as a hobby.

I really hate scales. I mean I hate weighing myself. Up to November last year I hardly ever weighed myself . It's still tricky I admit, and I record here once a week. But weighing yourself Every day will keep you focussed and on track.

I'd highly recommend my Tanita BC545N scales, by the way, as they show *what* you're losing (muscle, fluid, etc) rather than just how much.
