MrsTofu's Journal, 06 October 2011

I got to chaperone a field trip for my daughter's school today. It was a lot of fun. We went to Butler's Orchard, had a hay ride, got to pick pumpkins, go down some big slides and get some locally grown apples. Yay! The only thing that could possibly make this day better would be if my hubby weren't sick. :-/ I am glad that it's almost Friday. The weekend is supposed to be nice and sunny.

Tomorrow evening marks the beginning of Yom Kippur. I am going to try keeping the fast again. Last year was the first year I ever kept the fast. It was not as hard as I was expecting, though it wasn't really easy either. I like trying to keep the fast because it helps me refocus my mind. Though I will admit that I am also really looking forward to Break (the)fast afterwards. I will miss celebrating that with Jason's mom, that's always a treat. (She's enjoying Italy right now, so we'll have to wait for other holidays to spend time with her again.) This year though some friends are doing break fast so I am looking forward to doing it with them.

In other news I found out that one of the jobs I applied for turned me down. Oh well. Not the first time, and not the last either. I'll have to keep on trying and see if something else turns up instead.
