Weigh in is tomorrow and I am still stuck up in weight a little. Hope it cooperates! I came off my triathlon high a little, but it really was fun to think about it and tell people about it over the weekend. (See my last journal for pics if you missed them.) I kept right back with working out, so so far this week:
Monday: 3.2 mile run (same route as the 5K I did this spring)
Today: Weights 20 min
Elliptical 35 min
Swim 1/2 mile, 23 min

I worked out this morning at the gym and was planning to be done for the day, but hubby emailed and asked if I wanted to swim at the gym when he got home. This was the first time he showed interest in doing that. I inspired him at the tri and he would like to do one now. He took my bike out last night and rode 8 miles too. I need to see what is coming up next, but I think there is another tri we may consider doing in August. He ran the Chicago marathon 5 years ago and has barely ran since, but he is a natural runner. So I am watching him cut down his eating as he would like to lose 20 lbs if he decides to do this. Of course there is expense to all this which would include upgrading his bike like I did. The crunchy gears from the cheap mountain bike are no good. Plus there's shoes and then entry fees. So we will see what he plans on. I guess I had better keep in the training zone!

My new thing this week has been "Operation: Flat Belly." I started out good this week but I have been overly hungry and snacky today. I have a feeling I blew it for today with too much food. I should be ok tomorrow. I also tried to learn some belly dancing moves online and that is a great core workout! It really seems to tighten those tummy muscles. I'll have to try that again.

Last thing is I took an application from the Y today and I might fill that out to consider teaching a class this fall. If they are interested, I will have to see what kind of commitment it would be. I used to do that 10 years ago and it is pretty fun to do. It would pay for my membership and then a little extra too and keep me motivated to look extra fit.

That was a long one. Thanks for all your cheers for me with the tri! I encourage each one of you to consider trying that also sometime in the near future. I am a little hooked now!!

Love your entry! See?!? Even hubby is inspired! You have that great effect on people. I think you'd be a great Y teacher! What a fabulous idea. Great side benefits also (getting paid to stay in shape and free membership fees)! What can be better than that? no worries about the snacking. Today is another day. Stay in the present moment. Cheers!

Great workouts! It's nice that you have new things to try, too. And that is very cool that your husband is inspired to try the triathalon! You are both setting such a good example of an active lifestyle for your kids. That is such a gift to give them! Good luck with teaching the class at the Y - I'd take your class! :)

That's fantastic that hubby has been inspired by your success. And having him for a training buddy/rival would be great inspiration for the both of you to really push yourselves to do your best. I hope the Y class works out for you. That really would be a great way to stay fit and getting payed for it is just an added bonus. Good luck with Operation: Flat Belly. I could use some of that, too!
