Good morning everyone!! I am S-O-R-E SORE! Damn you 15lb kettle bell and bob harper DVD. lol My thighs, my butt, my abs, my back, my shoulders... I feel like the tin man. I did the entire DVD yesterday while having flashbacks of how hard all of these moves used to be in the beginning. I mean, I was sweating buckets, but it used to be so much harder. I'm going to make a goal to do that 50 minute DVD twice a week as part of my strength training. If it ever gets easy... I have a twenty pound kettle bell waiting for me.

I survived my first night of nursing school!! Whoop whoop! I know one girl in class with me, unfortunately she is not my biggest fan... at all. Luckily she has put on a lot of the weight that I've lost, muahahahaha. That always makes things better. Last night on our break she got a couple chocolate bars and a soda from the vending machine, eat up my darling. I have homework and reading to do today, and my first test is next week. Because I'm a part time student the only course I'm taking right now is Anatomy and physiology, which by all rights should be a cake walk for me, I've taken college level A&P courses before. I don't slack though, so I will study hard. Now that I am past the anxiety, I am so excited to start this new chapter. I get a half hour lunch break every night, and since I will be eating before I go to class I think I'm going to spend it walking around campus. Log an extra mile or so :)

Despite my soreness I am heading to the gym today to get some cardio in! No strength training, poor muscles need to recover. I will be working tomorrow and Friday, so tomorrow might be an 'off' day, and Friday I think I will plan for an evening bike ride after work. I have a pork loin in my crock pot, and it will be done before I got to class this evening so I can eat before I go.

Hoping to get into the 170's soon. I dared not weigh in this morning, as sore as I am plus my TOM, but hopefully it's not far off.

Well, that's about all I have for now. I hope everyone has a wonderful day, and as always... thank you for being so supportive :)

Yaaa for making it thru the first class! Congrats! And it's always nice to have a plan for the half hour break. Good for you!! Isnt' it nice when you can do a workout from start to finish and think to yourself that ""it's a good workout, I can do it, I so much stronger than when I first started this"! Doing great Yo!!!

Glad to hear your first night of class is reflecting positively. Starting a journey always seems to be better than the anticipation and waiting for the journey to begin. I'm feeling fatigued from my prior workout days as well...thought about taking the day off, but will do some biking instead. The legs could use a good spin. Good luck on your A&P class!!! I know you'll do great!

Whoo hoo! Glad the class went well! Doesn't it feel good to be thinner and a more healthy person when you see someone from the past? Especially when they're not the nicest of people AND larger?! Karma.... Fabulous job on the DVD! I have Jillian's kettle bell DVD but haven't tried it yet. Need to buy the actual kettlebells for home. I'm learning from trainer how to properly swing (although I'm sure Bob gives good instructions). But the thing that stuck with me is the word "hinge" at my waist. I'm not necessarily squatting - I'm more hinging down and allowing the kettlebell to do the movement so I'm working the back of my legs instead of the front of my thighs and then squeezing the butt so you're not hurting your back - just standing up tall. I need to firm the back of my legs and butt - not get huge thighs. This is different for women and men. I thought it was a good observation by my trainer and I can feel the burn in all the right places. Keep up the fabulous work!!!

Well, it's a cliche because it's true: the best revenge is living well.

I knew you'd feel better once you got through a day (or night) of nursing school. How lucky for you that you've already survived A&P classes at the college level! Try to have some sympathy for those students that have more questions, as it may be their first time through. You amaze me with the 50-minute workout! I almost died doing part of a new 30-minute work-out that I wasn't used to! I can do 45-minute workouts that are a balance of stretching and strength training, but non-stop hard work? Yeah, not so much. Keep it up, Yolanda! You will be in the 170s before you know it.
