Diea's Journal, 04 July 2014

Up 0.8 pounds this week, perhaps on account of learning how to be on a soft foods diet. As I'm learning, I'm eating a lot of ice cream and shakes. May this be short-lived! I resolve to keep losing weight despite this unforeseen and dramatic change to my diet. Thank you to everyone who has shared wisdom with me about how to eat healthy despite wisdom teeth extractions. I really appreciate it. <3

and...

I re-did my numbers for June and, as I thought, being on my moon totally skewed my numbers and hid my progress. Thank you, bloating.

So I believed last week that this was my monthly progress (or lack thereof):

May
147 lbs
35% body fat
51 lbs fat mass
96 lbs lean mass

June
145 lbs
37% body fat
55 lbs fat mass
90 lbs lean mass

In actuality, I DID lose fat mass! That makes total sense since I've recently started working out again after 10 months of recovery from my leg injury. So my actual, non-bloated numbers for the end of June are:

June (July 4th)
145 lbs
35% body fat
51 lbs fat mass
94 lbs lean mass

!!!!

That is WAAAAAYYYY better and more in line with my current lifestyle. Ah.... Relief! My percentage of lean mass went up from 34.69% to 35.17%. Small increase, steady changes, long-lasting strides in the area of health. :D

Have a wonderful weekend my fat secret allies!!!

Replace the ice cream with natural yogurt :) Not the fruity ones, the plain variety only. Fruity ones are worse than ice cream, lol.

Time to get that spark back in your eye. You can do it.

Just a blip I'm betting. A lot of people's bodies go into "protect and reserve" mode when they're sick or have any kind of medical procedure done. That's in addition to the dietary change and the bloating that hit this week. Most likely things will be more back to normal next week.

Yogurt is a daily necessity now, Alia. Trust me!! I eat it just like that or add it to smoothies. The ice cream and shakes happened when I was out and about. There are very few soft food choices when I'm on the go.
