Dinner at Fridays

I can't deal with eating out yet I guess.

We were out and we had a nice facial and daughter had a massage. MY BS was 71 and it was dinner time.

Go to Fridays and I make good choices. Wedge salad with ranch, crumbled bacon, and cheddar.

Shrimp and grilled chicken on top of some type of cheese with onions. I didn't get the mashed potatoes, I got the broccoli. I only ate 2 shrimp I gave the rest away.

I look at the calories and carbs. I can only guess...31 carbs for the dish? 10 more for the salad? I did look it up but I substituted so it's a guesstimate. Way too many carbs for me.

Seems like I can't figure out how to eat out correctly. Very frustrating. Seems like there can be no "spur of the moment", where do you feel like eating moments when you are trying to lose weight. It seems ok at the time but then later it's a big mess.

The heck with it I'm just putting it in my journal "as is".

Better then my carbs...Mine is normally around 180 (sometime higher) everyday! Most of mine comes from fruit, veggies, and whole grains. But, a low carb diet never works for me :/

Maybe review the online menu of some of the places you eat at and then select meals that fit your macros/calorie requirements. If you go to TGIF’s then enter some of their meals in FS to get the breakdown. If you eat at a few different places you can make a mini reference card that figures out the best meals for your macros at each restaurant. But I read what you ate and I think you did awesome. You made smart choices and cut back on what could have been a really heavy meal. It’s difficult when you don’t prepare your own food. But it was just this day and was not so bad. You will be better prepared the next time. And thank you so much for the support today. It is greatly appreciated.

I get that. I, too, need to maintain low blood sugar. It is increasingly difficult as a vegan. I maintained low blood sugar eating low-carb/ animal protein-based foods. After 15 years it stopped being affective. Trying raw vegan. You should applaud yourself! 71 is perfect! Which means you will get it back down again. It's not like you're going out to eat every night. Give yourself credit!
