The main reason I can't eat that many carbs at a meal is it sets me off on a binge. I ate 2 pieces of dark chocolate and 2 jif to go packs. It wasn't a lot but it was a binge b/c I was craving sugar after dinner. Also, I got a stomach ache from it.

Once again, I see that planning is key to success.

Maybe when I go out I need to pack up a "food bag" in case my blood sugar drops. 71 is too low for me - I get shaky. My hands were literally shaking. 80 is too low for me but not as bad, but my body will adjust to that. It is an ok level health wise.

I expect perfection out of myself too much. This is a learning process and I need to accept that I haven't tried to eat correctly or change my lifestyle in a long time. There are going to be ups and downs and mistakes made.

I need to be more forgiving and understand that as long as I keep working the plan I will make it there.

Your body is going to be going through a lot of changes, and your blood sugar is just one of them!! Keep a few crackers handy. My bff is a type 1 diabetic, and has educated me for when her sugar drops too low. You need to research your intake of carbs to regulate your insulin levels. Sugar carbs are great for the shakes from a drop. I was (am) hypoglycemic. I would crash at the weirdest times!! But I learned how to limit my sugar intake. I started to read labels of everything that I eat. There are so many hidden sugars, its not even funny!! I had to put myself on a one month, no sugar or sweetners of any kind. Then I slowly reintroduced them to see where my threshold was. As for artificial sweetners, I got rid of all of them. I only use stevia for my coffee and any cereal or oatmeal I may eat. Good complex carbs like oatmeal and whole grains are good for keeping your insulin level for the long haul, but I don't need to tell you that!! Sit down when you have time and have a good long soul searching session, and find out why you want to lose weight, and why you have the cravings!! You may just be sabotaging yourself! It took me a while, but I found that I have to forgive myself, and that you don't have to restrict yourself, just learn to be moderate!! Everything in moderation!!! This is a new way of eating and way of life, not a quick fix diet!!! If you think about it as a diet, it will try to backfire on you, and you will get the guilts, for not being able to stick to it!! You have it started, with learning to forgive yourself and be more understanding!! This isn't going to be a easy way,but it is going to be the BEST way!!! I'll be here rooting you on!!!! Hugs!!!
