Good morning everyone! Happy Saturday :-) I didn't get more than a half hour of extra sleep this morning, but I don't have to run out of the house so I'm going to be happy about it regardless lol.

I had a good day yesterday, and am pretty proud of some sound choices that I made. When I met my friend for coffee yesterday I was starving. I ended up ordering a 'healthier' version of their frozen mocha, it was called a protein lite. Not sure what the nutritional breakdown was for it, and I'll never know, but it was notably less sweet and had some added protein so I'll call it a win. I also skipped on the whipped cream. I ordered a scone, because I've never had one and I was hungry. Not bad, not bad at all. I ate mindfully, and only ate half. Huge win. Conversation was good, just some weight loss basics, followed by nursing school talk. Afterwards I took my dog for a long walk, 4.5 miles to be exact. I made a lot of high protein choices to counter the high carb breakfast experience, and for dinner I even skipped the bun, and opted for a salad instead of chips. All in all, when it comes to the numbers I feel fairly successful.

Not sure what is on the agenda for today. My husband is working almost all day, and its rainy out. I need to spend a good amount of time studying for the medical terminology exam, and at some point grocery shopping is going to be required. Maybe in between those things I'll find a moment for the gym. I'm staying on point this weekend, hell or high water. Last weekend turned into a five day disaster, and I'm not doing that again!

Keeping focused on my NSV for this week, which is my two mile nonstop run.

Make It great, guys :-)

Stealing this from Matt Donaher - you don't have a fan club, you have an air conditioner club. We're like a fan, but way cooler :-)

That sounds like a lot of sensible choices. Congrats on the mindful eating and also having a less hectic day. And, 4.5 miles way to go! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Well done! The beauty of mindful eating I've found is the effortlessness of it...enjoy what you're eating and achieve a healthier you all around. :-)

Mindfulness is certainly the key. I like your attitude. I don't apologize for eating things like the occasional scone. I just do what you did - eat it slow, enjoy it, leave some behind, and go for a LONG walk afterward. Hey, if eating a scone makes you want to walk, isn't that a GOOD thing? Good luck on the medical terminology test. You'll do great. I wish they had required medical terminology before I started nursing school. It took my quite a while to get the hang of ordinary terms to be found on people's Kardex like HOB, SOB, HOH, HTN, TVH+BSO (translation for those of you NOT in the health fields: "Head of Bed," "Short of Breath," "Hard of Hearing," "Hypertension aka High Blood Pressure," "Total vaginal hysterectomy plus bilateral salpingo-oopherectomy")
