Kiki8123's Journal, 25 April 2014

Yippee! Down again and so excited. Thanks again for everyone's support and motivation. A special thanks to my friend Bwy for his challenges to me and guidance. I've learned this week that I'd been overdoing it on the carbs. In all my 47 years (most of those dieting) I'd never paid attention to carbs. I was going way beyond what was suggested for good weight loss. Although I've dieted a lot in my life, I never did Atkins or any other kind of diet that looked at carbs. Wow - did you know that there are carbs in more than just bread and pasta?! LOL. Sounds naive, but really - I never paid attention. Beans? Yup, carbs. Veggies - carbs. Now, I've been schooling myself a little and know there are some good carbs and also know the range I should be eating for fast weight loss. I'm going to try to lay a limitless more attention to this. I don't think Atkins is my way to go but know I need to watch this. I've learned so much from all of you during these past 3 months and I'm trying to put that knowledge into my daily routine. So thank you friends!

Took the day off and hubby and I are heading up north to go camping with friends and my sister for the weekend. I will have a lot of challenges as I didn't plan all the menus but will try to stay focused and at least limit portion control. Am also going to try to get in a few hikes, weather permitting. It is supposed to storm all day today. Hopefully it clears up tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'll see you on Sunday night (or Monday morning if too exhausted to check in when I get home Sunday).

Kiki, I just LOVE this post, you sound so excited and happy along with such a positive outlook this is just wonderful. I am also happy to see that members of FS have been helpful for you this is what it is all about. Now dear Kiki, even though you are heading for the hills I am sure you know our challenge is still on and you are fully expected to meet that challenge head on and not blame camping for any weight gain. You will have to practice lifting food towards your face and missing your mouth, well, it must be so easy to do as 8 month old baby can do it...lol
