Josie Ann's Journal, 12 April 2014

At least it's going in the right direction - that's a relief. It is coming off way slower than I had hoped, but this has got me thinking that maybe it prefers to linger around the low 130 range than going into the 120s.

Regardless, I will stick to eating healthy and have finished the Elimination phase of the Virgin Diet, and will continue to keep dairy out of my diet and 95% of the gluten. Also will limit sugar, soy, eggs, corn and peanuts between very little to none. I'm glad I did it as it did show me that gluten doesn't really agree with me and for the simple fact that I was just able to discipline my eating.

Wherever my weight settles it will settle. I want to shift the primary focus from losing the last 5-7 lbs to just well being. Of course I will always have to watch my weight (and I'll always care about that number on the scale), but if you eat right your weight should be in line most of the time. Ultimately, I want to find some balance and peace with food and weight. How's that for perspective huh! This FS forum (but particularly you Bella) have helped me to reach this point in my weight/body evolution - thank you.

I hope the sun is shining in your neck of the woods today!

Awww.... this forum helped me find the same. I am in the same place (just farther up the scale thanks to body type and everything else) where those last 'whatever' pounds are going to take a little longer to convert from fat to muscle to give a 'true' health rating beyond the scale. New for me too - I've always done whatever tricks needed to get that 'low' number. I've decided this time I'll go for healthy ... mentally AND emotionally along with physically ... rather than risking my health again just for that blasted scale. Once a week I try on the snug jeans, mark where my bracelet is hanging, body check how I feel. This phase will take us time and thankfully we have HERE to come and keep the motivation fresh.

Yup, gotta find my snuggest jeans and do the same! Here's to finding peace as life is too short to be obsessive about the scale only. It has it's place, but it just can't be everything since it is too fickle.

I just read this quote and loved it: You've been criticizing yourself for years and it hasn't worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens. Louise Hay.

Hmmm...how is it that disliking ourselves is so much easier than liking ourselves! Thanks for the quote Bells - I'm going to put it on a post-it right now and stick it to my mirror. Perhaps this simple revelation will make a difference.
