Tim Huffman's Journal, 22 March 2014

Happy Saturday everyone. Hope everyone has a little time to smell the roses this weekend.

It's been tough to find time to make it to the gym this week, Marathon training is in full swing and that coupled with work and family is limiting my time. I made a decision to decrease my weight training to only 3 times per week around my running. Today I plan to get in some weights than heading out for a 10 mile training run Sunday. Hope it's not really cold, or if it is cold, hope it's not windy.

I'm still loving 16/8 and following the program well. I did get into a battle with a jar of Jiff peanut butter this week. I'm sorry to say that Jiff won on a couple of nights this week (I love peanut butter). I ran 9 miles last sunday and had cravings the next two nights. I will need to keep an eye on that and see if there is a relationship and adjust my eating to keep things under control.

Even with losing the battle, the scale is still in good shape, my morning "non official" weight ins are showing steady at the 182 mark. With my weigh in being after my Sunday long run, I shoud even show a loss this week.

Hey Tim, I can totally empathize with the Peanut Butter ambushes. I recently started buying PB2 and wow am I happy. I put 4 tablespoons in a bowl add water bit by bit and stir until I get to a peanut butter consistency. It tastes great and 4 tablespoons have only 90 calories vs 190 calories in 2 tablespoons of regular peanut butter.

PB2 is the bomb.... Every protein shake has this added. Love it!

Good luck Tim with the training! The 3 day workout would kill me as the runs are longer... I would do the 6 day workout with 1 day of rest....that meant spreading the mileage in the week, I get my me time but not so much alone time running :)
