I cannot lose weight, and since I've passed 40,it seems impossible! I've tried every diet out there, including South Beach for the past 2 weeks, and actually gained weight. I need some motivation!

It becomes harder as you get older, but it's not impossible. I see women in their 60's, 70,s, and 80s, losing on the WW boards. Do you exercise? Exercise can really help burn calories, lose, fat and build muscle (which in turn helps us lose better and maintain our weight when we get to goal.) Make sure you track all your food honestly? I have a tendency to nibble and I know it always derails my weight loss. Make sure you drink water/liquids. It flushes out sodium and keeps things moving. Make sure you are eating the right amount of calories to help you lose. You may need to play around with them to see what works for you. Focus on lean protein, lean dairy, fruits and veggies. Watch your sodium and processed food intake. Make sure you are getting enough lean protein and high fiber foods. They help us lose fat better than any other food groups. If you really give it your all for a month and you don't lose a pound or notice your clothes fitting better, than maybe there is a medical reason (thyroid) for not losing.
