Ruhu's Journal, 14 November 2013

Another good day to add to my one days at a time, and I'm more determined than ever to break my pattern of allowing the weekend to detour me. I'll keep to my exercise routine, mediation & a nap if needed. And, I'll try to add in some yoga, which while I haven't gotten there this week, I did go twice last week and once over the last weekend & am really loving it. The key thing for me to remember, though, since the danger zone time is mainly weekend evenings, is to "just do it"… just go to bed!

This morning I'm off to a paddle tennis match, & have an eye dr appt this afternoon. The timing is ironic as I also hope to go visit a friend who is recovering from eye surgery after recently being diagnosed with eye cancer. It sounds like they caught it early & she should be fine, so fingers crossed.

But before I hit the road, I'll pray --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

And, I'll pray, breathe, log, journal & express my way on this one day & through each one meal, moment, bite & emotion. I'm so very grateful for each of fabulous you, my family & IRL friends, a cold but sunny day in the northeast, an eye exam to ensure my eye health and having the good health & enough wealth to live this life I love! xoxox

Evenings are bad for me too. I think they are for a lot of people. I think that a) I am tired and therefore vulnerable even though I've had dinner b) I feel I 'deserve' something good ie sweet because I have worked all day, I've commuted 2+ hours, I've dealt with people all day, I've dealt with my MIL, I've dealt with my sister, I've dealt with everything I need to deal with and now it's time for my reward! It somehow doesn't seem fair that the only reward I want - TV and snacks - is one I shouldn't have. Oh well, one can't have a smaller butt and a big bowl of snacks but at least I got you, and the rest of my FS buddies :) Have an awesome day sweetie :)
