It was my birthday yesterday, so I had a couple of treats - mmmm, I love me some cheesecake! And yet, I lost a little! Alright! I had a calorie surplus yesterday, but I worked out pretty hard for the second day in a row, so it was a net plus.

I took the day off today, to get a few personal things taken care of. That will include a good workout and lifting session, with any luck at all.

I have to get back on track with the losing. Can't keep cycling up and down. I'm trying to lose another half inch from my waist, but it's been slow going for the past 3 months. This is where I think you have to shift your paradigm, to break through the walls you run into. What I did to lose the first 15 pounds stopped working. What I did to lose the next 10 worked for maybe two months. So I need to make another change to get that last 10 pounds. In truth, I'm not worried much about the weight. I know that will be whatever it is. What's more important is what I'm made of - I want to be made of muscle, not fat. Or, at least, not as much fat as I am now. I am working to add muscle, but there is a limit to how much muscle you can add naturally in a year, so I'm told. There is also a limit to how much fat you can lose (you can lose only as much as you have :)). Adding muscle helps the calorie burn, which makes losing weight easier. So I need to get that vicious cycle working in my favor. But progress seems pretty slow right now. So I need to do something different, if for no other reason than to keep me interested in this program.
