CJT1217's Journal, 24 July 2013

It's ok if you over-indulged over the weekend. Just get your ass back in gear and work twice as hard to recover and rebalance!

Food crimes:
1. 7 old fashioned chocolate covered donuts over 3 days
2. 1.5 bags of Ruffles
3. 2 piroshkis

Sentence:
1. 40 miles of mt biking for the week (as if that's punishment bahahaha)
2. Cut the processed sh!t and bahave!

Ahh... to balance things out.

3 miles down last night. 37 to go!

I would google what a piroshkis is but I get the feeling I will find a picture and want one. Good luck on the 40 miles! I think you're insane... but good luck!

Piroshki... a baked or fried russian bun with tasty innards... I had bought the beef and cheese filled piroshkis (one baked, one deep fried lol). *drool drool drool* Today I'll be looping around a nearby city for a good 16 miles or so. I like to do a lot of off-road mt biking, so my miles per week arent nearly as much as road cyclists!

To (kinda, sorta) quote DairyFarmersWife, "Good luck on the 40 miles! I think you're AMAZING--in spite of the donuts, heh... but good luck!"

I have no clue why but there is a song called Inner Ninja. For some reason it reminds me of you. I think it's the 40 miles, off road nuttyness.

Inner Ninja? Haha, I'll have to look that up. So, yesterday I knocked out 15 miles bringin my total up to 18. I even hit 40.1 mph on a downhill section, my personal best so far >=) I figure biking along the Berkeley waterfront tomorrow will easily take care of the 22 last miles for my "retribution rides" lol.

Made me smile! I was pretty bad too. Monday starts the new couch to 5k at work. I'll be thinking about how hard you are exercising. :)

Have you gotten your 40 miles done yet? :)

I only got to 37 miles last week :(. But today after a birthday potluck at work (in which I had devoured 2 servings of spaghetti, 3 pieces of garlic bread, and 2 pieces of cake) I told myself I'd knock out 20 miles today. Mission accomplished! And a new downhill record of 41.9 mph. Not too shabby! Redemption achieved! See above for my ride :D

Your birthday????? Crazy downhill btw

Oh haha, no. It was a coworker's bday here at work on Tuesday... then we had leftovers yesterday... and I had that damn tasty double choco muffin this morn! So now that's out of my system I can press on :D. I know, right! Seems a little out of character for a 32 lb mt bike to hit 42 mph. I'm sure you road guys do it with the ease. I tell you tho, I needed that down hill straight away and pumped HARD. My legs were on fire! I'm in the process of finding a steeper road where I can hit 45 >=) You're inspiring me to get more mileage in as well!

LOL. On the birthday treats. One of my clients MTB races. He does technical downhills. I have some pics from Killington last weekend. maybe il PM you. Do you have your USA cycling license? You should do some racing. lots of times there's a pro/elite race at the same time. You might love it.

After I upgrade to a respectable mt bike, I just might look into that! Right now I'm biking on a heavy (but apparently durable), entry level mtb. I tuned the gears and lubed her up a few weeks ago and she ran like buttah. But after all my abuse, it needs retuned again. Time for some new front and rear pads as well. I'm so rough on her, but she takes it like a champ :)

Buttah! Funny. Roadies degrease and lube every 3 rides or 100 miles-ish, and definitely after rain. You're doing great, Chris. Can't wait to see where you are for your fitness testing
