Day 8 (Week 2): 10 TO 30 POUNDS BY November OR BUST

Holding steady on the scale this morning which is as it should be. I am more than happy with my loss so far :) I went to Chili's last night with some of my girlfriends in Mary Kay after racing on an adult Go Kart Track last night :D

I ate my evil Salad but I was good and got the to-go box at the beginning and put away over half of it at the beginning, it is now in the fridge and may or may not get eaten. I had my water and and did not indulge in anything else. I almost went with the Guiltless Grill but this felt more satisfying to me and I do NOT want to deprive myself too much this go around because I want to be able to keep these habits for the rest of my life.

It's raining today and I have several things I need to do outside the house as well as hostessing a little get together at my home tonight so this may well be a break day (from exercise) on my body. My calves are a bit sore from the extra bursts of walking here and there I have been inserting in my week and will probably thank me. (not exercise but it's the same idea as 10k steps. Move an extra few steps wherever you can during your day)

Looking forward to another week of the scale smiling back at me!!

Great job, Sima. I'm glad that you reminded me about boxing up half the meal before eating. For some reason I ALWAYS forget to do this. It's such an easy solution! I agree with you that sometimes you just need to make the "wrong" choice, especially is you know that you're on the path for life. Too much deprivation and you suddenly find yourself in prison, but obviously you planned how to handle it (20 steps ahead of me, the non-planner!) and I think it's great. Hope you have a great time at your get-together tonight! Happy eating!

It really does work! I debated for a long time about it last night. Really wanted to order off the Guiltless grill, but halving the salad more than filled me up/satisfied me and kept me well within my target calories for the day...So I am GLAD I chose the salad. The Salmon might have been good too, but I was unsure about the veggies that came as the side. Sometimes those "light" veggies at restaurants are so gross. How can they DO that to perfectly wonderful veggies?

What a great attitude about your choices. I agree with you about the damage they do to veggies. I think when they are fresh they are okay but if you don't order them early they are overcooked. Hope you had a lovely get together.
