Home from a wonderful weekend in St. Louis with the kids, probably not all the best food choices, but I walked a lot Sat. We went shopping and walked around for a few hours, then I swam several laps in the hotel pool and did some power jumps (they are much easier to do in the water:), yesterday we walked around a 90 acre zoo (took my pedometer but forgot to clip it on to count my steps at the zoo darnit!), swam again, then my son wanted to take the stairs from the 5th floor pool to our 16th floor room 165 steps! So I did get in some good exercise and my daughter (who will be 4 the end of the month) did it all without asking for a pick up! Had to slow down and walk with Grandma some, but she did awesome. I am soo proud of her.

So today I am trying to flush any sodium out of my system and eat more clean/less carbs. Down lots of water and hope for the best weigh in Wednesday morning :) If I don't get a big loss it'll come off eventually, I had an awesome time!

You probably did more calorie burning with all the walking than what you would have done staying home doing insanity anyways. You sound like you had a great time and that's the point.....you are allowed to enjoy life. Now we know our limits. Took till today for me to get my rings back on so there was ALOT of sodium to flush out. Feel alot better now.

Glad you got everything flushed out! This morning I was back to the weight I was Saturday morning when we left, so I have flushed all my sodium out too. It is nice to know that I can splurge a bit and enjoy myself and then know that I will get back to eating right and exercising. In the past if I had a day or two of bad eating it turned into a week then I'd slack on exercise, but now I know that I can and will get right back on track. Don't think I exceeded my calories over the weekend, just didn't eat healthy foods like I have been, but when I got back home switched back to healthy eating:) I'm really proud of that and feel like I've finally got it!! I didn't exercise Monday, but made hubby do our 2 mile weekend walk with me yesterday.

Exactly what I mean. You CAN enjoy yourself as long as you know when to reign it in. That was my problem in the past too....one splurge turned into a week and as you said...no exercise. Then came the inevitable brow beating and feeling bad about yourself. Not anymore. Wake up the next morning...push play...eat well...drink your water and move on. Enjoy life!
