I have not yet purchased my scale, but I feel lighter already. I'm giving myself a head start on the diet thing. I am seriously measuring EVERYTHING I put into my mouth, and also recording it here. Beginning on January 1, 2012, will be using meal substitutions for breakfast and lunch. This week, I am test-driving the 1250 calories per day thing. I was SHOCKED that I was under 1000 calories yesterday. Perhaps I can start off the New Year with a lesser start weight. I am amazed at the amount of support that FS offers and the people here are GREAT. I am inspired by so many people. When I get an urge for a snack, I log in and read the forums. Thanks for rescuing me FS.

I HIGHLY recommend that you get a smart scale, one of those that measure body fat and other things and of course your weight. Record ALL the information it gives you somewhere. It will help you stay sane later on, when you suddenly stall for no apparent reason. The scale can show you data that will confirm that you are indeed losing fat even if you're not losing weight. :)
