NavymomT's Journal, 16 October 2016

I know its unusual for me to post twice in one day but this one is for the ladies on here. If the men have any suggestions, I will hear them too if you wish to comment.
I have lost 85.5lbs and my measurements are going down. However, there is one thing that I am not happy about. My girls have gotten smaller but they are also sagging really bad in my opinion. I have and/or are doing everything I know to try to firm them up but it does not seem to be helping. I would love any advise or exercises that would help me with this very unsightly problem. PLEASE HELP!!!

I do push ups on my stairs every day (at least 25) to help. I also put a heavy retinol face cream on them that i pick up at aldis or dollar general. It's a knock off of olay products but give the girls much needed TLC. I'd post a pic but probably not a good idea. 😉

Barb is right - build the pectoral muscles will lift things a bit. YouTube chest presses and pectoral moves.

The weight I've lost shrank mine from a 38DD to a 34C-not good...in my opinion anyways. And I have sagging issues too. Some days when I look in the mirror I wish I could get a reshaping! I think I could take the push-up advice too...and it's good to know other women experience the same thing. Thanks, Navymom for being upfront!

I do some chest exercises along with my arms program. Hopefully it will strengthen the underlying muscle. BUT until then, it's a push up BRA for me....

I am hoping that the weight lifting I am doing will help with the pec muscles lifting everything up

All great suggestions. Must do the work and stick w it to see results of course. Give it time like your fat/weight loss, get a ball and some weights for incline presses and chest presses. But the push-ups will help for sure, and they will tone your arms too!

Oh and wear a good fitting bra.

Oh. I sleep in mine. I feel like it makes a difference. And there are other pec exercises besides push ups.

No advice on the frontal firming - toning question NM... just wanted to add that the weight and fat you've lost is a great accomplishment for the betterment of both your health and quality of life. Congrats!!

Hmmm....well, if you are an older woman + lost a considerable amount of weight no exercise is going to help sagging breasts. Once breast tissue sags the ONLY option to restore them to their proper position is surgery unfortunately. Exercise will help firm the muscles around and under the breasts, BUT it won't help saggy breasts. I recommend you seek the help of a bra fitter in a lingerie dept. or store and get a better fitting bra. Most women don't wear proper fitting undergarments and that's including a GOOD bra. A good fitting bra will make a HUGE difference. If you were a younger women exercise could possibly help.

Ha! Mine look like avocados in the toes of tube socks! Gravity is not our friend. My mom used to call it "Cooper's Droop". There are ligaments, called Cooper's ligaments, within the breast tissue that are responsible for keeping the soft tissue in place. Over time, with the weight of the tissue, they get stretched out. Once they are stretched there is nothing short of surgery that will tighten them back up. I'm resigned to just rolling my shrinking avocados up in their socks and stuffing them in the cups of the bra. :P

Haha! I know this is not a funny subject, but y'all are making me laugh! Pretty sure all women have this same problem at some time. Gravity is definitely not our friend. I just make sure I wear a good support bra. I will continue to read posts on this because I'm willing to try anything that might help.

I can testify to mskes' information. My breasts sagged when I was twenty YO, 65 YO and obese, and still now, 75 pounds down. My days of romping buck naked are gone forever. I didn't mind the sag when I was twenty and weighed 110, so I'm going with that. If anyone wants a picture, go to Playboy. There is an animation cynicist in their pages that has been predicting just this catastrophe for years. Google granny comics see what you get. BTW the only time they didn't sag was while I was nursing my baby. Course the husband wouldn't come near me then. Surgery is a viable option for younger gals. Bu t I also think we have to love ourselves with each phase of our lives. I'm not sure men agree, we know Donald Trump only goes for the ones with firm breasts.

So on the positive note, you won't have to worry about The Donald being in your personal space.

well I wear a supportive bra when at work and outside of the house but i guess what bothers me is when i am in my birthday suit, if you read between the lines on that one, and it is very noticeable. it bothers me a lot. Yes, I am over 50 and have had two children and was very overweight for a long time. Now, I am paying for all three factors.
