I got out my bicycle and rode for about 10 minutes today. Not a lot I realize, but I haven't ridden in so long it was hard to even balance. My neighborhood is all ups and downs too and I was having trouble getting the shifters to work. I can see I need to ride regularly before I no longer can because balance gets crappy with age. But if you stay in practice you can maintain it.
