Diana 1234's Journal, 20 June 2023

Went to my nutritionist today. Been doing pretty good food wise and been consistent in my workouts. After a lot of thought I made the decision. I love my nutritionist and she has done so much for me! Above and beyond what most would do. I was her very 1st client. She definitely treats me differently than her other clients. I have been going to her for 6 years and she still teaches me new things and also keeps me accountable with my WOE. I decided to see if instead of her checking my food logs 3-4 xs a week and meeting her every 2 weeks, I asked her if she would be open to checking my logs once a week and meeting once a month. There are 2 reasons for this. 1, I want to see how I do managing my food/ fitness more independently and 2, we travel so much during this time it's hard to fit her in anyways. She was all for it and actually thought it was a great idea. She said she would check my food log twice a week and that I was still welcome to text her with questions etc and not to worry if it isn't on a day she checks my log etc. Let's see how I do..
My measurements were not as good as they were before I got sick but smaller than my last visit with her. Resting Biceps, R: 12 2, L: 12.25, waist 31, hips 38, thighs 21.2 (both )

nice 👍 I encouraged the wife to see a dietician for her hashimotos after seeing all your success with seeing one

Otb, The Hashimotos is a real thing in making it hard to lose weight! I have it pretty bad and the feeling lethargic and the brain fog, joint pain, and weight gain play havoc with your physical and mental health. I truly believe that the way I eat has helped jump start my system to help me start losing weight and all the other symptoms improved as well. My endocrinologist agrees. He is amazed at how well I'm doing. I hope she can find relief!!💜💜

I didn't realize how bad it was until a few months ago. She is struggling pretty bad and getting very frustrated 😕 I try to be supportive just wish there was more I could do

I wondered why you saw a nutritionist for such a long time. Don't know much about them and doubt my insurance would cover it, but I had thought of going to see someone after a friend went. For me, it would be just to figure out a WOE I can live and get enough protein while not eating much meat, not being crazy about fish or beans. Maybe 2 or 3 visits to figure things out. My friend went for 2 or 3 months. She only needed/wanted to lose 10-15 pounds and couldn't,'t lose an ounce. Her nutritionist told her because she had hyperthyroidism losing weight would take longer and gave her a plan that worked

Sounds like you have a great nutritionist.

Fritzy, While I was trying to lose weight she was a tremendous help. She devised a WOE food plans, taught me about planning, prepping and logging, as well as fitness plans to best help in losing weight. (I've mentioned before that she was a trainer before she was a nutritionist) She helped me figure out what works best for me and then kept me accountable. I was always skinny before I gained all my weight so I had no idea how to lose it. I'm extremely indebted to her. I think after awhile I just liked having her make me accountable and I still learn a lot from her. I won't lie, I'm worried I won't do the things I need to do but I just need to be a big girl and find out. 💜💜

She does sound great! I've been able to lose weight in the past but have rarely been able to maintain the loss. That might be the best time for me to seek advice, if I ever lose weight again. I'm stuck treading water right now

Transitioning away from the support can be a scary thing. Sounds very smart to take it slow and adjust. Either way you got this!!

I think they call that adulting????😂. Totally get it tho. I have in the back of my mind a little worry about my doc retiring. Her practice has gotten so successful shes thinking about cutting way back. So i get it. But you’ve been seeing her for quite a while so i bet your knowledge base is vast. You will be fine. You also have the right mindset and are a fighter so there will be no holding you back with or with less of her right?!

YOH, I thought I'd be sad after talking to her but I don't. I feel energized and I'm ready to go. Vacation trip starts next week so let's see how I do with that!😬💜. Snowhite, thanks! Hope things are better with you!💜🙏
