Good morning Diana, I hope you're feeling better today 🙏 and yes pink eye is one of the symptoms of a variant of covid. Also, the covid tests don't catch all the variants. If treated the 'pink eye' should clear up right away. Hopefully, you won't have a recurrence. (it's something to watch out for a little while before applying makeup again) 🙏

Most Covid symptoms are also symptoms of other ailments. Ever since Covid came on the scene we get alarmed at every sneeze, cough, sniffle & ache! I hope you're on the road to recovery soon ❤️ I hate that you have been so sick.

Was not aware of that but wow! Only had pink eye once in my life and it is very uncomfortable.

I sure hope you don't have it.

The pink eye tie in with this variation has been known for months. Like it or not it is Important to try to stay abreast of the rapidly changing symptomatology of this virus that has not gone away— it is no longer killing lots of people but it is leaving them with prolonged side effects and long hauler syndrome which can be in the form of any number of things but typically respiratory and cardiac.

My friend’s son has consistently tested negative for Covid with the home kits despite having it twice. blood draws had to be used to diagnose him each time.

Sweet Diana, did they give you the results of your X-ray? Did you talk to them about another roun of prednisone to get that inflammation down to help lower the coughing? Also the tesselon (spelling?) cough drops dont forge those may help. Continuing to say prayers for your healing. Was just telling my husband about what’s been going on with you and he’s nodding his head, familiar story in our family. Are you feeling any better? Getting any more sleep last night?

I thought your symptoms sounded like Covid when you first posted about how much trouble you had just to breathe. I remember watching all the news stories about people needing ventilators in the hospital. Makes me wonder if the Covid tests I got in the mail early a year ago work for whatever version of it is going around now.

I had pink eye well I said it was pink eye ... The doctor was like nah you must of scratched it. Did a covid test Negative ... My eyes where horrible for a week. I went to my own doctor well someone in the practice. Usually they won't see you if you are sick don't ask. She switched up my medication to something way stronger. She was like you are 100% had pink eye. I showed her a photo she was like take the new meds and go relax.

Hi dearby are you massaging the pus out of the tear duct? That helps it cure quite noticeably. :) Also lets the meds get in.

Thanks everyone! I am actually feeling slightly better today except I'm really tired. I had a horrible night though. Woke up at 3 am coughing etc and couldn't go back to sleep. I haven't gotten any news on x-ray. I figured I wouldn't hear anything till Monday. The pink eye is persistent. I swear I'm being super careful but when I stopped my antibiotic drops after a week, per instructions, it came back. Very strange. Who knows if it was covid and my tests weren't correct or what but I just want to be better. Kenna, what you said about long haulers issues does concern me because I'm compromised in both respiratory and heart issues. I do know when this is all over I will be looking for a new doctor.

What aren't they blaming on Covid? I've gotten conjunctivitis once, but I was working Peds ER and it happens. Kids are dirty. 😄

@Daddy -- no, it's a thing now. Seventeen percent of new Omicron cases include pink eye. The strain is Subvariant XBB.1.16 and is called "Arcturus." It's been around since January, though mostly in India.

Tud, I was a kindergarten teacher for 30 years so I totally understand what you are saying but the weird thing is that I got sick, wasn't around anyone but my husband and 3 days afterwards got conjunctivitis. Couldn't figure out where I would have gotten it.. I'm not even saying I have covid I just thought it was interesting..💜💜

@Diana: Your gym is a perfect place to pick up Covid. Especially the pink eye, what with people rubbing their eyes and then handling equipment.
13 May 23 by member: JustBananas
JB, that is true and possible but I'm pretty careful to wipe down my equipment before and after I use it.

The newer covid strains aren't detected in the older covid test kits that were distributed and are still sold over the counter. Did you get tested at a pharmacy or in a doctor's office?

pink eye and ear infections were side effects kids were getting, way back when. my kids had them. but that was before they were even testing... lol

Honeybuns, I did a new at home test 1st and then when I went to quick care they tested me as well. Both were negative.
