Yesterdays workout was lower body and abs - Muscle day (as opposed to Strength and Muscle day which has higher weight with fewer reps... for building strength). Was not sure what to expect since the severe DOMS of last Wednesdays workout followed by the flu. Workout went very well, and today, while there is a bit of soreness, there is no DOMS... Yea!! Always hated getting thru DOMS each time I started a weight training program back in my early 20's. All downhill from here... in a good sense!

Cardiac rehab was great this morning. I pushed my elliptical HIIT workout and maintained my heart rate between 140 - 160 for most of the 30 minute workout. Oddly enough, todays lesson video was on how many people respond to a cardiac event or surgery. One characteristic was for a patient to deny that their case was that bad... and push themselves and act like nothing happened. I thought, "I certainly don't deny that I had 6 blockages, or pretend that nothing happened, but I do push myself because suddenly I find myself with cardiac capacity to do more." They also mentioned some depression might follow, however with each improvement in cardio and other fitness activity, I find myself getting excited about what the future holds for a healthy me!
