So sorry to hear about your little kitty. I'm very attached to my love bird & when I lost one I'd had from a baby to 13 years, it ripped my heart out. 😥

Oh, that must have been difficult to see. I'm sorry to hear that. Poor kitty. Veterinarians are pretty pricey these days. I got my 40lb dog spayed last year for $150 at a teaching hospital. My veterinarian wanted $760.

Lol let me tell you I never expected to spend this much on a kitten! Especially one I found that I wasn’t going to take. But seeing her crying alone full of infection haunted me so I had to go help her. Fast forward a few months later she turned out to be the sweetest thing ever. She answers when I call n make pigeon noises and comes sleep on me whenever she has a chance. Everyday when I poop she’d be at the door sticking her little paws through to et me know that she knows I’m in there.... man she wormed herself into my heart really good. The cost did hurt a lot, cuz I was like damn that’s a lot of whey protein!..... but I was more worried about her making it through the surgery. Since they said it was critical due to the guts hanging out and the potential bacteria and viruses infection. But you don’t realize what somethings are worth to you until you know you’re about to lose it.

I am so sorry to hear this, but I am also confused. My two girls got spayed at the same time, and overnight they bit and worried out each other's sutures. I took them back to the vet the next day in fear that their guts would come out, and was told that the muscles are stitched internally so this could not happen. I am worried about the vet you went to in the first place, that they did not do a proper job.

Super I don’t think I’ve ever commented on here but i read your posts. Your story put tears in my eyes. I just told my husband you seem like such a big strong guy and now it seems you are super sweet also. God bless you hope your little kitty comes thru ok. Please update.

I'm so sorry, Gainz. We have guinea pigs and it's amazing how expensive our little furries can be as they require a vet who specializes in exotics. But we love them, so we suck it up and get them the care they need. She'll thank you a thousand times over with her love and affection.

Wow that's insane. I didn't know that could happen to a cat. Sorry to hear about your kitty 🙏🏾

Yea tud I tried taking her twice to a low cost spay clinic but 1st time the rejected her cuz of respiratory infection, 2nd time they said she had a heart murmur and needed a real vet operation

Thanks cheesepuff! Really I don’t compare my numbers with people much, sometimes just for motivation. The only time I get bummed out about numbers is when my its worse than my previous. Especially when I know I could prevented it.

Mcbubbles yes it’s true the abdomen does get stitched up too. I would be trying to get something back from the vet had I not witnessed her jumping out the window... she ripped the net out abs jumped down 8ft. I noticed the swelling cuz she kept meowing at me and showing her belly but it was Friday night and Saturday morning was too late

Oh lord poor baby. :( Poor little thing! I am so sorry for you both. Last time my cat did something stupid I set up a gofundme for friends and family, I've got a facebook friend who's running a raffle... $4k is certainly enough to make you lose your appetite. If you set up a gofundme post the link. I don't got much but I do believe in paying it forward.

I'm so sorry to her about your sweet kitty and I really, really hope she heals and gets better. I have always had pets - more cats than dogs but I know whatever the cost I will do what I can to take care of them. I remember many years ago I had a cat whose back legs just stopped working. The vet I went to explained a procedure that would have cost about $3000, maybe more. At the time I would have put the money on my home equity line to take care of her. Luckily we tried medication first and she was fine within a day or two.

Oh, geez. She jumped out of the window? I can see why the sutures ruptured. I thought my dog was difficult after the surgery but didn't think how cats love to jump. Ouch.

So sorry about your kitten! I work with a rescue and have a constant stream of kittens that come through in various states of health. It is very stressful when the little darlings are hurt.
