Here’s a new concept. Are you really hitting failure? Or is it just lack of energy?? I was surprised at the deficit I was able to hit yesterday but it came with a cost. Lost 3 reps on all my working sets! I was at 180g of carbs, looks l 250g is the min

I push some to failure but then maintain for a while before increasing. Lat failure is very hard on this old body

I’m still rocking a deficit until I’m down to 12% myself. Then it’s bulk time. I can’t wait for the extra strength and energy. Super do you follow set times for cutting and bulking or do you follow a formula? I was planning on bulking up to 20% bf at 1% of body weight gained per month and then cutting down to 12% bf at .5% of body weight lost per week. Then a maintenance period before bulking again. Any advice is appreciated as, I’m new to the bulking/cutting process. I would just follow the seasons like most people, but I live in the tropics so it’s always shirtless season.

Lol yes that’s harsh bulking when it’s shirtless season all the time 🤣 The only advice I can give you is don’t force yourself to eat, eat till satisfaction with macro as priority and as your lift starts to improve you’ll find you’ll naturally eat more. Or atleast that’s what happened with me. And for cutting cut as far back as you could maintain your workouts. As you see here I cut too far and lost reps. Which is a no no, if I keep letting it go like that there will be muscle loss from atrophy from not being stimulated as much as it’s used to cuz it’s limited by energy. As far as set times go, I don’t follow any. I could see you’d have to follow a time frame is you are competing but if you’re not you don’t need to. Good luck! And if the bulk cycle is a success you’ll find you’ll end up with a better composition year after year. And you’ll be able to eat more year after year 😏

Another advice is invest in tanks. You’ll look jacked bulking in a tank 😏💪

@super haha thanks for the advice. I’ll definitely heed it. I already have tons of tanks. I’m either shirtless or in a tank 95% of the time. It was a big motivator for me to start this lifestyle change for sure. I only wear a t shirt or collared shirt maybe 3 times a month to go out to eat or something like that.
