yeah it does but mostly because the person has more muscle mass under the blubber and higher energy stores. there's good reason powerlifters eat insane amounts of food and don't care too much or at all about body fat percentage

but you know all that already lol . what's wrong losing some strength on your lifts as your leaning out?

Lol yea I use to believe muscle mass moves the weight and fat is just deadweight. But what if I tell you that fat weight plays a role too! And yea I lost 1 rep on my top set for benching yesterday 🥲

And why wouldn’t powerlifters, cut to lean before a competition and be back on a surplus with all the energy stores and little fat tissues

Interesting stuff I went ahead and read more up on it. Ultimately doesn't matter to me it doesn't fit me goals at all but always good to learn something new

It just dawned on me this morning. I do my best critical thinking when I first wake up from sleeping lol I see why there’s both sides to the argument it’s just no one could explain what the fat mass does and this more I have the answer to that

It depends upon what your goal is. If your goal is to be the strongest, then mass is important. If your goal is to be the best beach volleyball player, then lean is more important. For general good health, somewhere in the middle is optimal.

Yea I feel you on that. I’m eating all my carbs around my workout and it still dropped by 1rep on my top sets. Then I have to eat basically keto the rest of the day. So for the mass moves mass subject. Ok horizontal that works right, something heavier will always push something lighter. But what about vertically? Where the fat weight becomes deadweight, would mass move mass serve true? I use to think vertically only contractile tissues moves the weight. But this morning it dawned on me. Fat tissues contributes also. How? Fat tissue is added weight to your base, the heavier your base the more stability you have to leverage the weight on. And we all know leverage is everything in lifting. And here’s the kicker. Fat tissues is deposited from your center outwards lol perfect 😂

Mariusz Pudzianowski will most likely always be my favorite Strongman cause he didn't sacrifice looking like a bodybuilder just to move more weight. He was still able to win several titles. But yes, the bigger you are, the higher the strength ceiling.

Yea is he the one that went into mma too?

For me: Mass moves MESS... I have a lot to do to re-build my weak muscles 🤣: ⛏🛠🔧 Clean garage, clean yard, clean dirty laundry, clean cars, fix roof, trim trees, paint house in & out ... ok that should be good for the entire Spring & summer .. LoL Yo'all enjoy your Spring season !
