I bought some Arnold's Multigrain bread for my sandwiches. If the calorie counter is correct, it has almost double what a regular slice of whole wheat. Is that stuff good for you?? I also used whole grain pasta for my ziti. I'm questioning that too. Any ideas from you nutritionists??

The thing is, they are still carbohydrates. The whole grain versions have more fiber so that is good but you still have to watch the portions. A portions is one piece of bread or a half cup (of pasta or rice or whatever). So fill up that plate with veggies and a little of the whole grain carbs and you should be okay.

I've been eating a lot of open faced sandwiches when I'm trying to cut down on calories. I really don't miss the extra slice of bread. Also, like Ashley said, carbs are carbs.

I guess I'll go back to the flat sandwich rounds. I got the whole grain bread as it was on sale. I like it when it's toasted. Didn't realize it had so many calories and carbs.
