I work at a desk for a living and attempt to point offenders in the right direction so they don't return to prison. I am also a manger responsible for the overall running of a housing unit. So my work mental stress is a bit high. I was a single dad w/ 2 boys raising by myself but 2 years ago got remarried, for the 3rd time. I weighed about 215 to 220 when I got out of the Army in 2003. I used to play semi-pro soccer while in the Army on a German team. My activity went from that to 0; and it and my pants size shows. I'm ready to make a trip back to my prior size and weight and stay there. I want to be a better example to my boys as well. I want to track my exercise and food intake and learn to live a more balanced life.

Ah phoey
It seems that I did gain over the weekend.. but not as much as I thought. I couldn't seem to get over 1500 calories today without my gut feeling like it was going to explode. I'm pretty sure I won't tomorrow either. I have to eat in the Staff dining hall in order to get some fruit back to my office for my snacks for the week. I have salad stuff and grilled chicken I want to use up tomorrow. I was gonna use up the avocado from yesterday but it went brown pretty quick. I'm not good at using that stuff yet. I guess I can eat some grilled chicken breast meat to get over the calorie level easy enough.

Monday
I think I gained weight over the weekend. In fact, I know I did because I can feel it. I was at two birthday parties my kids were invited to so pizza was the main problem. I feel like my carbs were and are way too many. I'm trying to keep my carbs under 200 and my protein up. I got to get my carbs down and protein up.

Help
Thank you. Both of your replies made me feel tons better. Okay, so I can go over 1500. I don't want to feel hungry all day but I also don't want to have to eat all day long. I'm pretty limited with time to eat. I'm quite limited with financial resources as well so buying the expensive stuff can't happen. I'm a single dad and am the solo mio parent of two boys in grammar school. I'm pretty fixed on results too. I saw weight loss fast initially and expected to keep loosing it like that. When I got out of the Army and finally stopped playing soccer at age 30; 11 years ago, I was about 215 to 220. I think I looked good then. I'm quite strong and do farm work often. I cut wood for heat. Hunt and fish for food and grow my own groceries for the most part. I want to look and feel better and stay that way. I will stick to what I'm doing but will increase my protein intake somehow.

My weigh in
I stepped on the scale last night and it was 248. I was a little irritated. My aim was 245. I'll keep plugging away.

Scratching my head but driving on.
I don't care to weigh myself everyday. Someone pointed out the water weight factor. If I see myself going up and down, it will be frustrating. I only care to see the weekly trend. I have a better feeling when the weekly trend is weight loss. The trend will be up and down if it is everyday. I ate enough wings last night for all three of us so I need the week to get those wing calories down.
