I'm with you finally, and losing too, finally. It was tough to come to the point of giving up bread, desserts, and wine but I'm so glad to grab my discipline by the throat finally. And yes, protein does turn into sugar with high protein or very low carbs. My glucose was too high on my last blood test even when I haven't eaten desserts/wine for over 4 months and no bread for over 2 months. But like you, I continue to lose, am grateful, and hope my commitment lasts. I've always been terrible at maintenance. I congratulate you on YOUR commitment. I see so many pictures of sweets on here that it makes me wonder how people eat those things if they want to lose.

Great drop, well done. I started my weight loss journey June of 21, weighing in at 280+ pounds. Started by choking out the carbs. In October (on my cheat day) ate some pizza, which tore my stomach up. A few days later was my annual with my doctor. My labs did not come back very well. I told Doc I was trying to lose a few pounds, by choking out (almost zero) the carbs. My doctor dug into my shorts, telling me your body need those carbs as well as fats and protein. She recommended I try GoLo, or use a program to track my intake. I’m too cheap to pay for something, that I should be able to do, and downloaded FS on October 20 2021, weighing in at 363 pounds. I am dedicated to lose this weight. Since that day, have had No pasta, almost no eggs, no alcohol (love me some jack), no potatoes, almost no dairy (traded milk for almond milk in my oatmeal), no soda, no sweets of any kind (except gum and Yasso yogurt bars), traded rice for Cauliflower rice, have had some pizza made with coconut flower and as of last Tuesday have dropped 101 pounds. My current weight is 262 lbs. I think it’s a fine balance of macros, (fat, carb and protein). I ride a bike 2-3 times per week (weather dependent) giving it my all (10-12 miles). I continue to play with the percentages when I stall. I eat three meals a day, usually right at 300-400 calories per meal (dinner usually more), and a mid afternoon snack, and drink a minimum of 1 gal of water per daily (rule I was given is half your body weight in ounces per day) In addition: I do not eat anything after 8 pm until 8am the next day. Current ratio is 40% carbs, 35% protein 25% fat, and calories rarely go over 1800(normally 1200-1400) . My goal is to get to 250 pounds by October 20th (for my annual) and my BP has significantly decreased from 140/90 to 113/71. Not to bad for being 59 years old in my opinion.
