This morning I am most thankful for -
* Having had the presence of mind back in June, when I last saw Cousin G alive, to go back into his apartment and tell him all that shit in my heart when he was alive to hear it.
* That none of the funerals in this apparently relentless Fall death parade have been mine.
* The Minx's annual reminder of the celebration of life that was our one, quite naughty Thanksgiving morning together.
* Big Bro now walking around like he didn't even catch the cancer.
* The peace offered by the absence of television, corporate news and instatwitface from my life.
* The hope offered by my remaining wisp of upper abs.
* Pop's incredible good health relative to his peers.
* Petit Thanksgiving this year, cause death and life, which enabled our menu of fried chicken, Mac and cheese, and popovers
* Crib upgrades, ongoing and long overdue.
* Still fitting, barely, in my summer lean clothes
* The last lovely gasps of naturally aspirated, German engineered, internal combustion
* My perfect Turkish tailor of 30 years, just retired.
* Theresa and her relentless upbeat attitude and her loving care for Pop
* #2 walking away from totalling his car.
Life's fucking short. Don't die fat!
