Kept the workout simple but effective today. It's amazing what pull-ups, push-ups and sit-ups can accomplish.

I did a pyramid workout out of those core 3 and then ran a quick half-mile to round out a 25-minute workout. Then I walked back to work. Fortunately, the office picnic was cleaning up so I didn't feel obligated to stick around. I did grab a cookie to take back to enjoy with my lunch at my desk. Those chocolate chip cookies are forever my achilles heel.

We don't get together as an office too often in the year and I do feel sort of bad for ditching the opportunity to get together with everyone. But, I work full time with these folks, I have 2 kids and a husband at home...my lunch hour is the ONLY time I get for me. And (as FullaBella might say) "pound" it I'm gonna get my time in at the gym.

Summer weather finally feels like it's becoming steady. I don't know if I enjoy my lunch time workout or the afternoon shower more. It sure is nice to have a refreshing little scrub to wake me up before I start the afternoon paperwork.

Starting to get the plans going for my son's 7th birthday at the end of the month. He is having it at the local gymnastics school. They run a great little program and the kids have the gym all to themselves for a hour and a half. Then later that day, I'm sure I've mentioned, he asked to run a 5K event that is taking place in the evening. How amazing is it to have a 6 year old ask to run a 5K as his birthday present. My husband and I will run it with him...should be a memorable event.

I am the same way, I would rather just get a good workout doing the things I KNOW how to do, like pushups, situps, etc...and running...so much easier...and wowzers, your son sounds like a rockstar!! Awesome!
